He didn't come back out to fight so yeah he quit. He was getting knocked silly against McCline and he still came back out to fight. This dude has no heart...

In short - yes. A champion fights on until the end. For example Hopkins fighting with an injured shoulder against Echols in their second fight or Ali fighting 13 more rounds with a broken jaw against Ken Norton. Peter does not have the champion's mentality. Perhaps he can rebuild himself and redeem himself through hard work - but he has to start over.

Sam Peter is everything that is wrong with Heavyweight boxing.

He is fat, slow, ponderous, fights stupid, has very ittle skill and he quit. He quit oin a WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT.

Inchampions terms, hes a disgrace to boxing because he held the belt. But you know, he is human.

there were rumors that he had a knee injury and came into camp very overweight. He lost the fight right there.

No doubt, it was the right thing to do. This is exactly were people get hurt, the quick one punch knockouts aren't that bad but a prolonged punishment over twelve rounds is. Most of the people that die from brain injuries did make it to the end of the fight and collapse only afterwards because of the false sense of pride that they cannot quit. Peter quitting the fight was the best idea he had during the whole fight. People say there is always the chance for the late comeback knockout but realistically that chance is slim and negligible. Chances are much better you take too much punches in the process because you don't know when it's over.

Peter quit long before he even got in the ring, he quit in training camp IMO. There is No excuse for his weight and lack of conditioning.

Peter not only didnt have a plan B he didnt even have a plan A, to me it looked like Peter really thought an injury would surface or that the ring rust would be a factor, I thought Ring Rust would have been a factor that only happens when the other fighter makes it a factor.

Peter did not work on **** it was obvious that he didnt even know how to get anything going, is he a quitter? I dont think so, at the stage in which he didnt come out, it was clear he wasnt going to stop Vitali nor was he going to win on the cards, Peter made the right choice to fight another day, I hope this lesson is something he will learn from he is still young enough to win another title, I also think that he will learn never to assume a man that hasnt been in the ring in years isnt going to come to fight, Vitali came to win.
But I think Peter was banking on ring rust and injuries rather than a fully loaded Vitali Klitschko, this fight here shows just how much better Vitali is than Wlad, I still think Style wise Peter can beat Wlad. But Vitali on the other hand, well he doesnt exactly let you stay inside very long, Wlad does and he doesnt have the chin that Vitali has.
Peter will be back the divison is that soft.

He quit, but I wouldn't call him a quitter (one who does it repeatedly).

    Either way, he'll be back.

I wouldn't call him a quitter but will understand those that do, he just had nothing left I guess and knew it was pointless as it was already the 8th and Vitali showed no signs of getting tired.
