Unqualified success. Best fight the best and not best fight another bum of the month.

We need more in other divisions.

    Harsh, but true.

I'd say it sort of hangs in the balance at the moment, with the final being the difference.

If we get an epic battle, with no real controversies and a clear deserving winner, we may be more inclined to label the tourney a success in hindsight.

If the final is a boring affair, or controversial to the point of tarnishing it, it could lend to the idea the tourney just puttered out.

We are a fickle bunch, us boxing fans.

Yes because even with all of the problems it had, you can easily separate the real from the phonies and had it not happened, we would still think Abraham is the cream of the crop and Ward is some chinny boxer. More fights should be mandated like this.

I'd say it has. There's been great fights. The time it took is a negative. And there was a dip in popularity because of this, but the semi's and final has brought a lot more enthusiasm to it.

Your negativity makes no sense. Would you rather have the top fighters cherry picking bums?

The super 6 tournament has offered several exciting match ups. What is there to dislike with that?

Of course there were always gonna to be problems and you can't have everything perfect. But the fact that those fights got made and we saw several exciting fights more than made up for it.

Without the super 6, I bet there wouldn't have been as many good fights been made and as much hype in the division.

Another thing I liked was that even when the fighter lost, we were still looking forward to the next fight instead of writing them off completely which were likely to happen outside a tournament format and the losing fighter would probably have to fight a bunch of bums before he get another shot at fighting a quality fighter.

    On the whole yes.

The glaringly obvious negative is Andre Son of Sven Ward having all his fights at home and being the only fighter accorded this massive advantage.

Probably the most important thing the tourney brought to the table.

And it's something we, at least I, lost sight of since the tourney began way back when.

Agree completely, if we had this in the welterweights around 2008-2010, the sport of boxing would've been light years further than where it is now.
I realize this would've never happened because of the 2 p4p pac and may, but omg, wouldv'e been awesome, and also think it would've developed a trust and better appreciation for the sport as well as a larger following.
