This point aint arguable. The simple answer is no, Adamek is NOT the lineal champion. He did not beat one (Haye) nor has he unified the belts. So tough luck.

Whereas, Haye WAS the lineal champion, he beat Mormeck who was linear. End of.

Adamek is the number 1, thats it.

I never argued the point to begin with. You call Cunningham overrated i call Enzo overrated and Mormeck shot(which he is).

    I never called Adamek lineal.

Yeah I know, I was aiming toward the original question anyway.

Either way, I like Adamek, and he is clearly the best in the division. However I feel he should do his utmost to unify. The division is not under a strangehold of boxing politics, unifications between Fragomeni and Jones should be easy enough to make, and need to happen.

On paper Erdei is lineal at LHW.Goes to show how much of a cluster**** it is.And yes unifying is the path to take for real recognition.

Absolutely. Consensus #2 beat the consensus #1. When #1 and #2 fight and there's no champ, that creates a new lineage.

    Um, I'm afraid it does.

Thats the only way to become lineal champion, by becoming a, or beating the, undisputed champion. Ie, by unifying:hi:

No. You need to unify to become a UNIFIED champion. You need to unify all the belts to become UNDISPUTED champion. But #1 only needs to beat #2 (or vice versa) to become LINEAL champion.

I swear to God, for a reputed boxing site, way too many of the people here are just straight up morons.

There IS an argument that he's not lineal, which would be that it wasn't consensus #1 versus consensus #2, but there's no argument based on not unifying. It's not like Vasquez or Hatton has ever unified either.

Yes, Adamek is the lineal champion.

Haye left the division and so Cunningham was the consensus #1 cruiserweight and Adamek was the consensus #2 heavyweight. They fought; Adamek won. Thus, a new lineage is created.

He is the lineal titleholder, number 2 beat number 1. After Haye left the division, Cunningham was considered the #1. Adamek beat him.

That is only one belt though. He needs to unify one more of the belts, and beat 2 fighters ranked within the top 10. Unification always helps.
