No, I'm only looking at professional when I think about it.

If you take amateur fights into account, Audley Harrison becomes a good fighter.

I asked the question and am not trying to sway anyone, but I will point out here that you kind of hit something on the head in a weird way. Audley continued to get big fights even after it was long apparent that he was a pro bust, precisely because he was being given points for his amateur accomplishments. So I completely get what you are saying in terms of how absurd it is, but then again, it kind of works that way too, with Audley, Howard Davis Jr, Andrew Maynard, and Mark Breland, whose title runs were completely manufactured, being good examples.

It also makes more sense of how he seems like he's a finished product now, for better or worse.

Every fight, specially your wins, do contribute.

Winning world titles, Olympics, thats big achievement.

Usyk did it all, his legacy is outstanding.

I'm not saying fighters should be excluded, but their amateur accomplishments shouldn't carry as much weight as the pro accomplishments.

For example. Fighter A was a stand out amateur. 400-1, 3 gold medals. Won them at 16 years old, 20 and 24. Pro career consists of mostly b and c level opposition. 2 division champ. Finishes his career with a 30-5 record.
Fighter B amateur career, 90-20 no Olympic medals.
Pro career 50-2, 3 division champ, undisputed in 2, fighting B and A level opposition, defeated 5 Hall of Famers. Who would you say ranks higher.

Right. He boxes more like a veteran with 49 pro fights (which he has) than a 32-year-old with 19 fights.

I mean this is just baseless. Nobody ever brings up Floyds or RJJs amateur accomplishments (among other decorated American amateurs) because they just arent relevant. The rules are literally different between amateur and pro boxing although you stated "its the same sport." One of those sports wears headgear and scores on contact alone - the quality of a punch is irrelevant.

The WSB is essentially professional boxing just with less rounds. Amateur boxing is not like these sports at all - and thats okay...because its AMATEUR boxing so its meant for people who might be serious or might just have fun.

Very few people combine amateurs and pros because of the VAST differences involved. It is NOT the same sport despite your suggestion. In saying that, I think the WSB is absolutely professional boxing. The majority of the time Profesional boxers MUST fight their debut fight as a 4 rounder. Afterward they can go to 6 or 8 rounds and work their way to 10 and 12 rounders. The WSB allows 5 rounders which, again, for new pros that is pretty much the same thing. Headgear, t-shirts, and 3 round fights with an entirely different scoring system is NOT the pros/WSB.

Also, keep in mind that some fighters use the amateurs to train/practice new things. They may disregard winning competitions (domestic or international) because theyre more interested in their development and pro career. That is at least true in the US.

I don’t think wearing t-shirts matters? A fitted tank top or t-shirt made of thin material that breathes is pretty much like wearing nothing. If anything wouldn’t it actually hurt a bit, because it holds in your sweat for longer than it would take to just evaporate off your body?

Then would you say that you count his WSB fights?

In a 3 round fight it probably doesn't but red marks on bodies give a fighter confidence especially over 12 rounds. It tells the attacker theyre getting to the opponent. And its also relevant for judges.
