Crawford asked here what his favourite fights of career are and 2 of the 3 are Gamboa and Felix Diaz who he felt it was important to point out are both Olympic gold medalists

He has had 24 fights that I care for
Professional boxing is what I am a fan of and all that I follow. I think amateur boxing is a crock of **** and barley watch it outside of the Olympics

That's not a dig at usyk, I just don't care about amateur boxing. Fair play to those that do, but it's not for me

WSB wasn't amateur boxing. It was pro boxing by another name and without a boxrec record.

If you're a world level amateur you're fighting better fighters in the amateurs than you are in the pros for your first 10, 20 fights and you will often be taking a big step down in terms of quality of opposition

For example. Shakur Stevenson's last amateur fight was against Robeisy Ramirez who is better than everyone he has fought in the pros in his 8 year 23 fight career

Sure, why not, I'll spam this answer in here because I think it's worth a discussion:

I actually wonder why Usyk's team, watching his WSB performances, didn't re-think having him turn pro at CW. My thoughts would have been "well ****, that boy just took out every HW in the league in a row, why not get him in a weight room and just turn pro at HW?" I assume the thought was that he could clearly be a top HW (especially after beating six superheavies in a row in WSB), but that CW was a safer start with the assumption being he could clean out the division, so why not clean it out first. But I actually think it may have hurt his overall legacy -- I don't see anyone at HW who I think could have beat him. Real possibility he could have collected all the belts, retired undefeated having beat literally everybody worth a damn in the entire division.

Anyway, yes, it adds to his legacy. WSB was pro rules. His first six non-amateuer fights under pro rules were in WSB, against much bigger guys, one per month, and he beat all of them. Hell of a way for a guy who fought at 200 to begin a non-amateur career. And he did it without bulking up even. He was between what 205 and 210 for all of those fights.
