It is to an objective poster.

It's clear to see they are plain and simple the better fighters.

Whilst you may possibly be in the majority there are plenty decent posters on here that wouldn't agree with you and it certainly ain't fact.

    Dismount the high horse!:good

Okay, give that list I made to anyone and I don't think they could make a case for Calzaghe winning. I'm being made out to be a hater when I'm not; I shouted for Calzaghe as if he were my own blood in every fight I saw him in!

He just does not match up with 'the greats', despite his skillset.

How d'ya feel Calzaghe would get on against the Light-Heavys I previously listed? Or better still, who is the best Light-Heavy you could see him beating?

Buchanan's greatest hour is being low blowed by Duran.

Not beating Laguna then?:patschAs I say, if Calzaghe fought someone as good as Duran at light-heavy (only Jones is better at 168 IMO and he'd beat Joe) then he wouldn't last as long as Buchanan did, and wouldn't be half as competitive. Just not as good.

Again, I'll get the usual 'hater' comments, but when you dissect Calzaghe (which isn't hard) it's clear to see he's no 'great'.

Maybe, maybe. The version of Duran that matched Buchanan was described by Bob Mee as "perhaps unbeatable". I'd say from '73 until his move up to WW where he crushed arguably a top 2 h2h WW of all time, that's a defendable position. Duran was awesome, perhaps the single greatest proponent of lightweight boxing in what seems to be the most stacked division in the sports history.

The equivilant would be Calzaghe pushing a prime Jones close and a controversial ending where Calzaghe thinks he is turning the tide.

Duran was clear that Buchanan was his toughest lighweight opponent. High praise. I don't think Calzaghe is quite in his class.

I could see him beating an old Bernard Hopkins at LHW.

Are you talking about Buchanan beating Ortiz and Laguna away from home? Or Calzaghe beating Hopkins and Jones away from home?

Buchanan beating Laguna is my pick for the single greatest result abroad ever by a British fighter.

Your right Fleaman but with pro-joe guys your fighting a losing battle. Its all if, buts and maybes and if by some miracle you can construct a pretty flawless argument your termed a hater or jealous. I've given up.
