Ward is unbelievably over rated on here . . . he is not a big puncher ( allan green ud, gets Kod by johnson - edison miranda ud, gets kod by bute, pavlik, abraham etc. ) he has not got blinding speed ( struggled and got a controversially wide ud with bika ) and he uses his head to win his fights, leaning in constantly which now seems to be the favoured style of some ( not im saying some! ) american fighters (Bradley, Hopkins, Ward)

He is an extremely awkward fighter that holds, headbutts and is genuinely a rough fighter and he is going to give froch his toughest fight not because he is a good fighter but because of his awkwardness. The only question is does froch have the natural strength to rough ward up when he clinches and enough accuracy to land on wards chin ( extremely possible considering i dont see ward use any head movement besides when hes using it as a weapon) and the power to stop him? well find out how good wards chin is if he gets caught clean by abraham

Put it this way, Froch has by far the greatest resume over recent years than anyone else in the sport, yet all you do is berate him? He does nothing more than call out and beat the best (with the exception of Kessler).

Froch does not have a suspect chin at all. Abraham barely landed a single punch, and what few flurries he came out with in the final 2 rounds, Froch evaded. Show me a video of Froch hurt in the Abraham fight.

Against Kessler, he took a monstrous, flush straigh right and the only reaction we saw was him look slightly fazed. Somebody with a suspect chin would have gone down, not eaten it...

Against Dirrell, again, show me a video where Froch is hurt to the extent where you'd actually question his chin. He may have eaten one or two clean punches and looked phazed slightly but again, eating punches and taking them doesn't mean you have a questionable chin...

Taylor, his first defence in America, takes a spanking for the first few rounds and then gets dropped in the 3rd. But he gets back up and proceeds to batter the **** out of Taylor, once again pissing on your theory.

Froch has improved a lot from his past few fights,last fight v abraham he showed he can use his skills and use a game plan,sure it wasnt the most skilled boxer to go agianst,but he showed good skills,game plan,concentration to get the win.

He showed good desire and energy to rough up the slippery dirrell and landed enough flush shots,i dont think ward is as slick as dirrell,and can easy get caught by Froch.

Froch wasnt 100 per cent v kessler,he came in with an injury,and a disrupted camp with travel problems causing his final preperations trouble.

I think froch has the chin and power to be able to get to ward,especially if ward is stupid enough to get in close with froch.

froch has long reach and a sharp jab when he uses it,that will be used to good effect vs johnson and ward,he will look to wear them both out by early body attack.

for johnson it will be to tire johnson out,stop him coming in close,and to keep him at distance. for ward he will jab and bang the body to stop ward being able to move around and suck the energy from the horrible to watch ward.

If Froch can use his power,improved movement and speed,his jab,his good stamina,and improve his defence some more ontop of keeping to a good gameplan then he can beat anyone at super middleweight,and possibly even weights above that.

 

He may achieve this if he strikes at the right time -- i.e. with Ward on one knee not looking.

 

If the fight is in the states then he has absolutely no chance against ward because even if he did manage to win, which is unlikely, he wouldnt get the decision. If the fight was in nottingham he has a chance because the ref probably wouldnt allow ward to lead with his head and clinch so much and on top of that the officials will lean toward the home fighter in scrappy rounds, froch is lacking in a lot of areas but what he can do is make rounds scrappy hoping to nick them
