Do you get irrationally angry when your favourite fighters are criticised?

Never. I did once run amok with an AK-47 because someone called Herol Graham boring, but I think that was a pretty reasonable response.

Criticism I have always been Ok with, but it gets my goat when somebody has it in for one of my favorite fighters.

No, however when people spend time & money and then present all the necessary research documentation and still some people blank it as though it doesn't exist, or it somehow isn't real, then they go off on a tirade or assault mission to marginalise & malign the person and researched citations with an agenda to nullify rather than discuss the documents & findings... usually in a deflection manner and purposely change the subject or ask a question then demand an answer without EVER addressing the starting points of said documentation.

you will also see them discuss similar Boxing circumstances awarded to other fighters, while still denying it against those they are maligning. Anyway, the disdain is towards those kin ds of people and never the Fighters...

One guy once said to me "What Ratings, Whose Ratings, where?" ... well ffs it's Boxing we are talking about so obviously we are Talking about RING Magazine's Ratings, International & National Ratings, NBA or Countries Ratings... I was flabbergasted and yet I knew they were trying to marginalise and swing the conversation around.

Anyway that is just one example... BoxRec Records are another. Damn near everybody KNOWS that 'MOST' of the Older Records are Incomplete & Inaccurate for thousands of fighters, BoxRec TELLS You That Themselves, but others will throw out 0 wins, 4 losses, 0 draws for as many opponents as they kind find from a fighters record to try and suggest that 'those' fighters were nobodies, where as in truth 'many' of those fighters actually fought Dozens & Hundreds of Fights for 12, 15 or 20 years... One poster on this site is famous for it No Matter how many times Posters tell him, remind him and show him BoxRec is INCOMPLETE, but that doesn't suit.

anyway you get the point(s), Recorded DOCUMENTATION is What Researchers & Historians are SUPPOSED to Provide and Men & Woman of Integrity are supposed to acknowledge it, review it and discuss it, Objectively.

Internet Blogs & Sites have belittled that with Keyboard Warriors DISMISSING Facts & Documentation for Defamation, Assault and juvenile 'Owned' mentalities. Shame.

even at my work a colleague irately ignorantly & insultingly stated a certain work related merger between a smaller 'bust' company came into our inclusion OVER 10 years ago, yet it couldn't have as I have only been employed there for 6 years, and they came onboard about 5 years or so ago... anyway even this was shown her & pointed out to her she concluded "well that's what you'se believe, this is what I believe, so that's that.

the recorded facts didn't matter to her... Sadly this is the mind of a lot of people today.

No - but seeing it from the other side, it’s irksome when someone cries Hater as a default reply to any fair and due critique of certain boxers.

There are some who are very much prone to using that term, Hater - and that often reflects their own excessive emotional investment, not yours.

Not if it's constructive criticism, of course there are exceptions, some fighters are terrible people.

 

I'm kinda strange, in that I don't really have a favorite fighter, but it still can get irritating when someone is being completely irrational. I hate to have to walk away from convos with these types, but at least I haven't put a single person on ignore......yet.
