Do you get irritated by arm punchers or fighters who don't pivot their feet when punching?

Or fighters who basically never sit down on their punches? I do. Canto and Pep irritate me.

Yep. Roy Jones scares me though. Hamed too. Their feet were off the ground. It must've been tendon and ligament strength with them, protracting shoulders on impact (which was at speed - blinding speed in Roy's case... More of a pushing motion from Hamed).

For some punches, though, it's good to "jump." I'm orthodox stance and I believe the left hook has maximal power when you step in with it, like stepping in with a jab, but I can't step in with my left foot after throwing a right cross because my weight is already on my left foot, so after my right cross, I throw the left hook while stepping in, which looks like I'm jumping while throwing the left hook. But yeah, always jumping is a bad thing.

Well until his last fight, that's how I felt about Fury and I never liked him because of it.
Under his new trainer he looks like a totally different fighter.

I have same criticism of Nikoli Valuev.

To be honest it's really only ever bothered me at HW, but I'm sure its annoying with the smaller guys too.

Just something about a big guy 6'5 or bigger pushing 300 lbs but still cant put weight behind his punches

Not really....I kinda think it’s strange to not like a fighter because of a technical flaw ...if you think his style is boring that’s one thing ....but they all have flaws

But it's blatantly incorrect technique and, in my opinion, half cheating by selling out on technique.

How do feel about fighters who carry their lead hand low like Tommy Hearns ?

Well, some of my favorites, like Robinson and Canelo, sometimes don't pivot their feet when punching, but much of the time they do. In a Kid Chocolate highlight, I saw Kid Chocolate actually turn his foot while turning his jab into a left hook, which I found really satisfying and it inspired me to improve my left hook and check hook.

I use a Blackburn crouch-like stance (basically Ezzard Charles' stance but more upright and with my lead arm more outward like Robinson's) so I think it's fine, except that Hearns didn't keep his left shoulder up to protect his head (i.e., to block or roll right hands), which was why he was hittable by right hands. It was kind of shocking to see a guy so tall, long, and fast be so hittable.

You'd generate far more power without jumping. Jab no because of the mechanics.

Yeah, I take back what I said about "jumping" with the hook after the cross. But I still believe in stepping in with the hook. I believe it allows for transferring more weight onto the front foot at the same speed as not stepping in. I think it's also better for hooking off the jab since both a proper jab and a proper jab feint require stepping in with the front foot.

Yes but I understand if it’s a tough fight, sometimes fighters can be so focused on a game plan or what the opponent’s doing it can be easy to forget things like pivoting or technique.

It's not my favorite style to watch, but variety is what makes boxing so interesting.
