Erg! Me too. It's like I have to be losing to really turn it on. I don't know what that's all about. If you figure it out, please, let me know.
Don't know bout how you all prepare psychologically, but I put a face on my opponent. Maybe it could be that ******* bully from back in grade 4 you hated so much with a passion and always wanted to rip apart. Here's your chance! Maybe it is your dead beat dad that took off and left yas on hard times. Wanna get back at him? Here's your chance! You got someone you hate and want to fight to the freakin death against, put that person's face on your opponent. Trust me, you won't be lazy starting off. Hard part is trying to keep yourself frrom biting their nose off in a clinch lol. And oh yea, remember to take the face off of them when the final bells rings. Spitting on them and calling them a fukkin loser piece of **** when all is said and done tends to be frowned upon.
Nerves are all part of the game, I've always found they make me faster, more alert and enhance reflexs so if you cahnnel them in the right way it'l help come fight time.
No, no. It is supposed to be that way. Some fighters like Lewis say that they don't feel nerves in the Pro's, but he obviously means something different when he uses "nerves" as a descriptor. You talk of adrenaline.
Agree. Fight or flight, and because I never could work out that flying thing as a kid................. From the time I was age 7yrs until an adult I got bad "butterflies" before footy. All morning until I arrived at the ground later that day I rarely spoke a word to anyone. I did have a couple of team mates over the years that would throw up although others appeared not to be fazed one bit, chatting and laughing which got on my nerves at times (especially before big games.) Everyone's different I guess.
