I sure as hell dont, from the way his corner handeld the cut which was not his fault.but the way he just let joe flurry and taunt, flurry and taunt pisses me off. i cant take that gun shy ****, rjj still can pull the trigger when he needs to.before he shames anymore of his fans and himself for that shity display of boxing he needs to retire. all those greatest ko dvd and youtube HL dont mean ****, that roy will never be back not even a poor mans version.in fact he got beat by poor mans version of his prime self. Do you give him an A for Effort ? I give him a C cause he is 40 !
i sure dont.he shouldve just go all out from the beggining even if he got himself koed it wouldve been his only shot. give it all while he could and hope for the best. like Morales against Pac in the third fight ,he knew he didnt have much of a chance against Pac but he went in there and gave it a go.
Cause its so easy to fight joe c :rofl He was getting beat up plain and simple id like to see how you would fare against joe c and his slaps Its hard to give your all when you are getting beat to the punch all night, well you would know if you had ever been in a fight :rofl
yes. i expect jones to be stopped in this fight but he proves to be resilient especially after the brutal cut he suffered. props to jones for lasting the whole fight. :good
yeah thats was bout the best rjj there is right, gun shy, tired after 3 rds, sleeping on the ropes.he fought just to finnish the fight, he did enough not get koed, like in the taver 3 fight he did much better in. He was giving away too much. On the Setanta broadcast they were trying to make it sound like it was close up until the end. They agreed that Calzaghe probably won by "four points". Which was bull****. Nearly all the good work Jones did in any round was immediately undone by allowing Calzaghe to land unanswered flurries on the ropes. You can't win rounds, nevermind an entire fight, chucking it away like that.
Roy fought a good fight till he got cut. Joe was getting on top but it would then have been in Roy's hands to adapt. The cut was savage and he could have asked to be stopped and i would'nt have blamed him. He did'nt he stayed in the fight, while he was still in the fight he had a chance. Everyone complained that Hopkins did'nt throw punches versus Joe too. They said he was gunshy, past it and couldnt fight for 12 rounds. Joe just has a style that sucks the energy from his opponents
It looked to me like he gave all he had. What he had wasn't as much as he formerly had. But he gave what he had. He didn't fold. He didn't give up. I rooted for him knowing it was probably a lost cause and it was indeed. But even so, RJJ tried to win. Every round. He just couldn't do it. This content is protected That's it. That's all.
Yh that cut was brutal- he must of lost a pint or so. I feel that if he didnt get cut he would have been less gun shy. I could understand though- he didnt wanna get stopped. The punches you dont see hurt the most. His vision was impaired and he was fighting with one eye and probably thinking- Joe is fast aswell, if i let it go he could stop me with something i cant see. I agree he didnt give up and fought bravely. Jones has been so smart to even get a chance with one of the p4p top 20. He fought to the end, tried the best given the circumstances and even briefly put down a p4p champion. I give him an A* for heart!!! He said in the pre-fight press conference he was gonna pour his heart out and he did! I prefered to see Roy go the distance than try and unleash his shots and get stopped.
I give Jones Jr an A plus for effort. He was being humiliated, and he still stayed there to the end. A credit to himself and his country. Still, last night should never have taken place.
