Do you give Leonard or Lewis any credit

When you sign a fight, EVERYTHING is on you.

If you can't get the right frame of mind, can't train, can't bother, and you quit for that reason, it's on you. Your opponent owns you.

Lennox Lewis has a TKO win over Oliver McCall. Pretty good. Avenges a loss, bit better.

SRL TKOed Roberto Duran. Was more man then him. Great. Avenged a loss. Legendary.

Quit for safety quit for pride, but quitting does, indeed, mean you lost the fight and conceded superiority.

Unfortunately I think it was somewhat true. Duran's quit against Leonard is just the epitome of a complete kid who throws his toys out of the pram. Nevertheless, throughout the rest of his career, he redeemed himself and had come of age by returning from this fight and adding to his legacy when it didn't even need working on.

He could deal with Leonard's methods, but just wasn't in condition for it that night. That's on him, as I said on the previous page. Doesn't change the fact SRL got his ass handed to him by the most skilled fighter he ever stepped into the ring with in the most significant fight between the two.

I give Ray more credit for beating Duran in the second fight than Duran for beating Ray the first fight. Ray was still green when Duran fought him, and the fact he fought Duran's fight proves something. In the rematch he moved, kept Duran at his range and when Duran got close he held. The fact is in the second fight Duran quits when Ray is starting to land punches to the head and body.

Johnson did injure himself though, he was out until late in the year missing lucrative athletics meets and world championship qualifying

Yes I do consider them quality wins. Also an exorcism of demons.
