    The top 4 is fine.

Rosenbloom, Britton, TKL, Dundee, Miller, Cocoa Kid, Harry Wills, Levinsky, Jeanette, Houck and Bass all way to high.

Duran and Walker way too low.

Canzernori and McLarnin so high and no Ross is bizarre.

Absences of Fitzsimmons, McFarland, McGovern, Ryan and Jofre difficult to understand. Edit - adding SRL to list of strange absentees.

Ray Leonard should be on that list and Roberto Duran should be higher. I might not have as granular knowledge of boxing history as some of the posters here but I reckon their resumes are better than those ahead of them or in Ray's case on the list of all.

One question, why do you consider Jofre as one of the greatest oat? looking at it his resume is pretty weak, the only 2 good names he beat were an extremely faded Pocket Cassius Clay (which still managed to give him a very tough fight) and a retirement fight Vicente Saldivar, the only times he faced a truly tough HOF opponent in Fighting Harada, he lost twice

Maybe i'm looking at it the wrong way, and there are truly big names in his resume that i don't know of or maybe he did something so great that puts him at the top 50? As a casual, can you explain it to me? thanks in advance if you do

He's pretty much long reigning, undefeated and beat a good amount of contenders at bantamweight, his bantamweight resume is sorta like Duran's entire title defenses at lightweight tbh, there's not much HOF material fighters but their skills on film (or their other achievements) proved they're all very good fighters.

    1. Jofre is my #1 BW all time and a lock of the top 3 in that division.

    2. He was unbeaten in his first 50 fights and whilst he didn't beat any ATGs during that period, Jose Medel x 2, Bernado Carraballo and Katsutoshi Aoki were fine BWs.

    3. In 78 fights, Jofre only ever lost to 1 man, away from home, in close fights, when he was rumoured to be tight at the weight, versus another ATG who held a stylistic advantage over him.

    4. Jofre has arguably the greatest and most under appreciated comeback in boxing history. A 5ft 4ins natural BW, he returned up at FW and ended his career 25-0, including wins over, at age 37, my #3 all time FW, 30-year old Vincente Saldivar, the brilliant Jose Legra and at the age of 40 the excellent Octavio Gomez.

He doesn't quite make my top 20 p4p all time, but I consider him a lock for the top 50. I don't think there's much to choose between Olivares, Ortiz and Jofre at BW. Jofre has to rate higher than both p4p because of what he did past prime up at FW.

The list is good in places and a disgrace in others.
