You need to watch the fights. Seriously. In the 1st, Ali turned it up after the knockdown and proceeded to beat Cooper's ass. And in the second, Ali beat Cooper's ass.
ALI the GREATEST OF ALL TIME receives much love and sunshine, and so it is with everything in this world there must be hate and darkness. But as my man Bob Marley said LIGHT UP THE DARKNESS. ALI THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME.
I'm sure if you boarded a U.S. Navy vessel in 1970 during the Vietnam war you'd have an entirely different picture. No doubt the entire ship was going crazy listening to that radio when Frazier dropped him hard with that left hook in the 15th. I'd bet you wouldn't find a single man on the ship who was pulling for Ali.
That's ok because white and black college kids were rooting for him and he came up short. It could've been worse, but he got up...something Pac wasn't even able to try to do.
It's not debatable that Ali is the Greatest. Ali IS in fact the Greatest. When he defeated Sonny Liston, he stated in no uncertain terms that meant that he Must Be the Greatest. How can you be Any Greater than beating the most feared Heavyweight Champion there ever was in Sonny Liston? And to do it in such fashion, as to be making Liston look silly then to be blinded by liniment that Sonny Liston's corner put on his gloves in between rounds. To get through a round fighting blind only to have the feared Champion retire in his corner form a supposed shoulder injury. After all that there was left no doubt that he must be the Greatest to have done all that.
INDEED, AND I BET ALI WAS NOT GOING HALF WAY AROUND THE WORLD TO FIGHT A VIET KONG, WHEN HE COULD NOT EVEN GET A DRINK OUT OF F_CKING WATER FOUNTAIN AT HOME. TOUCHE.
Clean off his feet, sonny. George threw an uppercut. It landed. Subsequently, Frazier became airborne. Had George not landed that uppercut, some part of Frazier would have remained in contact with the canvas. George sent Joe into the air. Fact.
LOL that's not fact. George landed the punch, then Frazier moved to the right and a moment later sort of jump - skipped into the air before hitting the canvas. The punch itself isn't what caused Frazier to go airborne so to speak. There was too much time from when the punch landed to when Frazier went airborne to clearly see that it wasn't the punch that actually sent him into the air. Foreman had major power in his hands but the idea that he physically sent Frazier up into the air with a punch is truly hilarious on many levels.
Joe had a great night when he beat Ali, Joe was great and one of the Greatest, but wasn't THE Greatest. Muhammad Ali was the Greatest.
So Joe was in the habit of just leaping into the air and landing in a KD position, even when he wasn't punched ? I see. My mistake. Carry on.
Prime Foreman was a Monster.....capable of finishing Fights very quickly enormous Power in both Hands and a Granite Chin...Tkod once in a long Career.....then He met a 32 Year Old Legend in Ali.!!!
