we can all pick holes in fighters records but Froch ain't ducked down a division when ordered to Defend his belt now has he , Mundine should have fought Froch for Froch's commonwealth title instead of the Argintinian Taxi 168lbs strap , saying that its probably held in higher regard than that WBA Regular title **** , now that is a BOUGHT BELT if i ever saw one ..

Hang on a minute champ.

I've always stated that I believe Mundine could beat Pavlik but that's not to say that I'd be surprised if Pavlik put him on his arse.

Mundine would have to stay focused and work his arse off the whole fight, using his agility and speed to stick and move and out box Pavlik.

Secondly I'll tell you it's a straight out fact....Mundine would make middleweight with less effort than Pavlik would require. He walks around at 165lbs and is using his next fight v Pintos as a test to see how it pans out.

As for Pavlik, I think he'll be around for a while but unless he picks his fights carefully he'll lose the title before to long. I was impressed with his recent to wins to an extent but I could never forget how close he came to being knocked out in his first fight v Jermain Taylor.

With Hopkins, I've always been a huge fan and backed him to beat Pavlik.....by KO. Was a little bit greedy there. I also backed Jermain Taylor in his 2nd fight v Pavlik because I thought he'd fight smarter and he was schooling Pavlik in the first few rounds of their first fight until he got caught.

Sadly Jermain fought like a *****.

Now I'm off to have a bet on the gallops. :thumbsup :thumbsup

 

Not trying to praise Mundine or anything but I cant believe how many people here and in the general forum still praise Pavlik. I think he's been exposed. Full Stop.

He has always been a very one-dimesional and robotic fighter, happened to beat Taylor and suddenly he was the next best thing since sliced bread. And please dont thow Miranda into the equasion as he was an equally overhyped boxer.

Bhop IS an ageing fighter. Like it or not. The fact that he whooped Pavlik is more a display of Pavliks mediocracy. Dont want to take away credit from Hopkins as he schooled Pavlik but I still think hes an old war horse on his last legs.

Back to Mandy and I see no reason why Pavlik would be any big threat to him. He is is hard to tag, and as such Pavlik would struggle with that.

 

This could make or break Pavlik for sure. Be good to see him go back to middle, take stock and see what happens. Pavlik won't have to fight anyone nearly as masterful as Hopkins and at only 26 or something he has time to rebuild himself.
Still think that stylistically speaking Mundine struggles but at least now he has a greater chance at getting a shot.

 

Stylistically Mundine struggles with Jermaine Taylor alot more than Pavlik.

 

Its a fight I really really want to see but I disagree that JT schools Kessler.

Pretty much a toss up for mine.

I dont rate Taylor's skills that high frankly, he more or less just physically dominated his often smaller opponants and he has a good jab. Not much that different to Kessler really.

Gonna be a good fight if it comes off.

 

Disagree with that one mate. Mundine would look better at times against Pavlik but is at greater risk of being knocked out as well.

I wouldn't mind betting that Mundine at his absolute best could out point Taylor as he holds all the attributes less strength maybe.

 

It always spins me out that a guy like Taylor who is 6"1 is only 72kgs :huh

I mean he looks solid and muscular but **** is he light....same with guys like Kessler and CO.

I am 6"3 and 116kgs......I have trained hard in the past and got ripped down to 92kgs but was I drained.

I have some gym mates at 6" 88kgs ripped that look as solid as Taylor but 72kgs how does he do it?

 

Yeah tell me about mate.
Taylor's frame must not naturally be as big as we are led to believe.
Still tho i feel Taylor should be very strong at super middle & stop Lacy fairly easily in a exciting matchup.
Also im 6ft1 & when i weighed around 90kg i was very ripped i agree its hard LOL.

 

I know, absolute freaks......definetely missing gizzards or something. Still can't get over the Stipe Drews ****er coming in so low against Green??
