Exactlly this. He has something to prove. He messed the fans over by coming into a championship fight grossly out of shape. It's not like I wish him poorly but he has to show something before being taken seriously again.
Nothing I hate more than a guy who comes into a fight of this magnitude fat and bloated, flops miserably, and then has the gall to use it as an excuse afterwards. If he can't get motivated and train properly for a fight like that then what fight will he train for? Cheating the paying customers. So no, I have no time for this guy anymore
I'm a bit disappointed on him, but even if we don't like it we need a third fight with AJ to set the real winner.
Not at all. Hope he loses his next fight, loses all his money and gets a job in a supermarket deli or something. The guy didn't care enough to train right. He's a disgrace to the sport that was good to him.
Ruiz still has the skills to give anyone at the top of the div. fits but we need to see where his mindset is. His next fight should answer this.
I do. He may be a lazy fatass but I'd be lying if I said I'm not watching his next fight. In fact, I'm looking forward to it. I highly doubt he'll ever not be a fat ****, but he can still fight fat.
Really? The second fight wasn't close. It also wasn't entertaining. Ruiz just came to collect a check. You really want to see that again?
Yes, but he's a very limited fighter stylistically. I don't actually believe this stuff about Ruiz losing because he didn't train properly -- Ruiz lost because he's slow with little T-rex arms. Ruiz can do exceptionally well with an opponent too stupid to backup, and he'll probably beat anyone who goes toe-to-toe with him. But anyone with any sense at all will just use basic out-boxing to beat him. Parker could make those adjustments on the fly to beat Ruiz, while AJ couldn't.
I agree he still probably loses the second fight to AJ. AJ fought a much smarter fight. But...Ruiz certainly help his chances.
Don't care what he does and will not be surprised if he never fights again. Very much doubt we will see him in a ring in 2020 anyway.
