Well I am not going to argue with you. If you are defending Ruiz's performance in the rematch that says all I need to know.
He's got more than enough money and Snickers for now. We can leave him alone until he is broke and hungry again.
Not really. I will admit I jumped on the Ruiz bandwagon after the first fight with AJ since I didn't watch many of his fights before. But to be honest, it's not that he lost the second fight that killed it for me, it was his work ethic and attitude. He had great potential even as a big guy to go on and beat other guys but him firing his trainer, stories of him not showing up to train or showing up late, not really listening to his trainer, it's like seeing another JCC Jr. and we don't need that...
I still maintain a passing interest in Andy. I was really let down by his performance in the rematch and the fact that he didn't take it seriously. I was really happy for him when he won but I never really bought into the hype. He's good no doubt, but a lot of pundits got a bit carried away I think. I also didn't buy the hype that Joshua was really that bad either. I knew Andy was going to have a really tough time in the rematch and he would need to be in top shape. Sadly we all saw what happened. I'll check the internets to see how his next fight goes, all the details etc, but he blew it in my eyes for the time being. He can definitely redeem himself though by showing up in shape for his next fight. Youth is wasted on the young.
not really. Ruiz is a textbook example of that overused Hagler quote about "waking up to do construction work at 5 am while sleeping on silk sheets"... The huge payday for the rematch made him complacent. but could u blame him?
I think it’s more conclusive the way the aj-Ruiz rematch ended than Lennox - rahman. ok rahman was knocked the eff out, but Being completely outboxed over the course I believe highlights that Joshua was always better in every department (minus the quick hands and chin). it always shows more sides to ajs game, and the fact there is no interest in the 3rd reflects that. going into the rematch it was a real pick um
I think his quote was, "It's tough to get out of bed to do roadwork at 5am when you've been sleeping in silk pajamas” but I see your point. I thought of the same quote when thinking about Ruiz...
There's wasn't a massive difference in the punch stats. Joshua did enough to nick the rounds, but he was petrified everytime those saggy tits wobbled towards him!
