Sergei forced Brewster to war in the same way Bowe forced Holyfield to war in some of the best career shortening fights in history......

I believe the cumulative effects of Brewster's "Balboa like" style ended his career. Not any particular individual. The human body has it's limitations and while WILL and desire can sometimes overcome, eventually REALITY catches up.

He had eye surgery before thos efights also and the detatched retina now really psycologically would play a toll. Just remember Bruno vs Tyson 2 after his detatched retina, scared to get hit or in Brewster case just wanting not to get hit, no fight psychologically.

Brewster's crappy defense made him exciting, but appears to have caught up to him. He's taken some a lot of punishment and is getting older anyway. It wasn't Liakhovich alone, but that fight was probably the most taxing on Brewster physically. A detached retina as well as the countless shots to his body and other parts of his face.

After the Brester vs Meehan fight some people here asked if Wladimir ruined his career. There were sceptics then but now it is clear that those people asking the question were right. Wladimir Klitschko ruined Brewster\'s career in the first fight.

I think continually changing his trainers has had an impact too.

Along with the fact he was never that great to begin with. Tough? Yes. Durable? yes.

Definite top level fighter? Not really. A solid top 10 kind of fighter IMO. No more, no less.
