Do you guys think that Guzman scared off Bob Arum in putting him in there with Manny?

You don't have to buy it bruh . . . that's just how it is. :D

I don't think Arum and Team Pac is willing to take unnecessary risks at this point. If that's a big monery fight . . . it will happen. But since it's not and it's not appealling to the general public . . . it's far from being a reality.

    Arum is scared. :yep

No, what I think is that Team Pacquio looked at their options as far as match making ..Their first priority is excitement :

The best opponents to bring that are :

    Diaz

    Marquez

If their prioriety was to bore the fans than Guzman would be at the top of their list !

The mere fact that Arum is talking about JMM, Juan Diaz, David Diaz or even DLH . . . it already proves what they are up to. :rofl

This invalidates all other illogical insinuations. :yep

That's how you see it. Not how it is. As I just illustrated, being a mega fighter like Pacquiao or PBF, one fight isn't going to ruin your reputation.

I don't think Guzman is a boring fighter. He ran at the end because he knew he won the fight. Is Cotto a boring fighter because he ran from Mosley at the end of the fight? No it's boxing whats the point of doing something stupid when you already won the fight.

Please don't explain to me what boxing is ..What makes Cotto exciting is that 1 he has power something clearly Yawn Guzman lacks !!

For all his flash what else does he bring to the table ?

A copy of Mike Tyson's stare .oooooooooooh

whats so exciting about that ? Nada thats what ..But hey if thats the type of boxing you like than Chris Byrd must also be a personal favorite as well as Paulie Malinaggi ..Fighters who will always have a place for their over all skill but will never be fully received by all boxing fans whole heartidly due to their lack of power .

    I've got to agree!
At least against Soto, Guzman did very well to box off the backfoot.
When Soto took him to the ropes, Guzman fought back from there.

I can see where Guzman can be boring if he were up against a physically strong fighter that would push him back....but that did'nt happen so much vs Soto.

To be honest, I thought Guzman-Soto was a good fight. Not boring at all.
Guzman kinda of went into survival mode for the final two rounds, but he fought well, and hard for 10 rounds.
If Guzman gives that kink of effort everytime out, I'll take that.

I cant reallly blame Arum for not wanting to match Pac with Guzman.

I'm not convinced that Guzman could handle Pacquiao's speed and power, he backs up to the ropes too much when under pressure, and that would'nt be wise to do vs Pac.

In any regards, what makes it look bad for Arum and Pac is that they decide to wait till after the Guzman-Soto fight so that they can make a decision on who Pac fights next.
.....Guzman and Soto both give exellent accounts of themselves, and all of a sudden Arum sings the tune that Guzman cant draw flies, it would be a terrible PPV!:huh
......was'nt that what he was saying about JMM???:patsch

Funny how Arum puts it to save face and preparing the public and media to accept what is coming, and that they will choose the safer David Diaz....:rofl

"RIght now its between JMM and David Diaz." but we're leaning on a Diaz fight so that Pac can carry a world title belt around his waist and JMM can come and face him at 135lbs!:rofl :rofl :rofl

If that is'nt a stalling move by Bob Arum to wait for JMM to either lose to somebody else and even it he does'nt lose, he gets older....if thats not a stalling move, there has'nt been one invented yet!

The sooner a JMM-Pac fight takes place, the better the fight will be.
Moving up to fight at a higher weight division is only going to decrease the sharpness of both fighters.
These two are prime and ready to fight at 130 lbs right now, who knows how each will adapt to fighting at 135 lbs!

Arum already expressed his desire for PAC to fight 3 times next year (MArch, June, Sept) ...or was it PAc who expressed that desire?

Either way a couple of months wont hurt JMM...hes just leveraging PAC to the hilt at this point.

Its a foregone conclusion that Arum want the fight with JMM to be at 135.

It'll get done..shoot it might even be "the fight" in March

Lets wait for the announcement in 3 days

Remember with PAC... all he wants right now is money and lots of it...

He might run for the senate in a couple of years

First of all Cotto doesn't have 1 punch Power. Second of all Boxing is not all about power. If it's was all about power body builder can come in right now and become a champion. A boxer can make a brawler look slow and stupid. I don't need to see 1 punch power every fight I see to say it was a good fight. Third of all Paulie Malignaggi and Chris Byrd are not boring fighters. Just because they don't have KO power don't mean they don't fight and they throw a lot of punches. Juan Diaz has a lack of power but look at him. He makes people quit with his speed and his skills. Again I will tell you it's boxing not two robots hitting each other without protecting himself.

I've been following boxing too long and know a con move when I see one.

Arum announces what as he's done that Pac will fight three times, probably in the order of David Diaz, JMM, and an outside possibility of DLH......

.....but the reality is most likely that this announcement is to get the masses to bite on a David Diaz fight while everyone thinks that JMM waits in the wings to be next......
....then the Diaz fight passes and Arum starts to sing another tune.....maybe Joel Casamayor looks better but far from masterful in a rematch with Santa Rosa, and Arum all of a sudden sings the tune that Pac wants to unify 135 lbs......:patsch

Once an awaited fight is put off, Arum can come up with a variety of excuses that postpones the fight even further.

Friend, the JMM-Pac hype has come to a full boil......its not going to get any bigger than it already is now.....if anything, one or both JMM and Pac has a terrible and lackluster performance in the interim, and some of the lustre that exist now rubs off and the lead to the fight does'nt have the same electricity and excitement that it would if it were held next!

Bro, there is no other way to put it, the Juan Diaz, Joan Guzman fights still need a little bit more exposure and seasoning to max out on the interest and PPV buys, but the time is now for a JMM-pac fight to take place. Its not going to get any bigger than it is now!

Hey I agree...Id love to see this fight in March..lets just wait

I think its a case of how much they can agree on..If it is 5 mil for PAc and 3 Mil for JMM..this fight happens in March bareknuckled.

Arum has soo much **** going behind the scenes..you just dont know

This is the only post that matters in this thread...

Nobody is scared of anyone. Pac's next fight will depend on how much money it will generate (Arum's evil agenda). Unfortunately it's how things works in boxing these days. :-(

Personally i'd like Pac to fight either JMM or Guzman then Juan Diaz... But if he chooses David Diaz as his opponent this march i'm also cool with that but theres a condition... As long as he fights JMM next probably on July. If not then **** Pac!

Now that you mention it, this question is to those that live in the Phillipines......What is the outcry like out there for Pac to do and fight next????

Is there pressure on Pac to fight JMM by fans there, and how about the newsmedia????

......or do they not care as long as Pac keeps on winning no matter who he fights???

How will Pinoys take it if Pac proudly announces he's fighting David Diaz and proceeds to hype up David Diaz as a dangerous opponent????
