Do you honestly believe Canelo is a better fighter than Cotto?

I still see Canelo as a prospect. No way he is better than Cotto. FOR NOW.

 

In terms of skills and ability in prime, it's Cotto and not a debate.

In terms of where they are right now, it's closer, but Cotto is still more skilled and experienced, even though he's a small JMW and Canelo is a big JMW. Cotto is still the better fighter now. The quality of Cotto's opposition throughout his career has been superior to Canelo's as well.

In defense of the ginger, though, he's only 21 and has plenty of time for improvement. I like him and his style, and I think he can improve a lot and already has made big strides. In 6 or 7 years, he might be better than Cotto was, who knows.

How Cotto does on Saturday will give us a better idea if its possible for Canelo to catch or overtake Cotto one day though.
