Do you honestly see Dawson being a p4p best in the near future?

Dawson has the skill to become P4P top. He already is just inside the top 10 P4P and I think that besides Mayweather, Ward and Dawson are the best the US has to offer in a P4P relation. Direll is my personal favorite, because I like that he is so intelligent in the ring, but I know not everyone is sold on Direll yet. Sure, I reckonize that Kessler will be a arch-rival for several years, but I also think Kessler is a top P4P fighter in his own right.

Top 10, sure, but he has a ways to go before he can move higher. First off, the comp just isn't there for him to move that much higher. Second, he has some major flaws that can still be exploited. He needs to learn how to be able to fire off shots while he's under pressure. Also, he needs to learn to set up his shots better. Finally, there's that chin issue - while it's not bad, it's not good either, and his defense isn't good enough that he could avoid having it exposed long enough to become a top P4P guy.

Precisely the reason he would have a difficult time to be the best P4P champ.:hat

Realistically Dawson is the best fighter @ LHW , barring Hopkins , he has the potential as it stands to go and unify the division having held the WBC & IBF straps seperately of course , therefore any undispuited champion in any weight division will find there way to the P4P top 10 .

If all goes to plan thats the way Dawson is heading .

yea, i think so. i think he's the complete package and as long as he doesn't get bigheaded, he can get very far. he beat the best cruiser in the world in adamek he'll badly outbox any of the 168lbers. i think they don't want none. the times he got hit and went down he's shown he has very good recuperative powers. if he stays focused, he can be p4p top 5

I think he is going to rematch The Road Warrior, and then a match with Hopkins.

That's the path he should really be taking.

Amen. pound for pound fighters don't lose to a guy like johnson, unless he's already shot. watch hopkins vs johnson to see what a P4P guy should do against a journeyman
