He looks really good. There's only one way to become a p4p fighter though, and that's in the ring, not on a forum. You can't increase the value of a potentiol Calzaghe win over him by talking **** on here, Dawson has to do it in the ring.

One thing that would be helpful to me - does anyone know how he does with the weight, and what his natural fitness is like? How long will it be before he moves up through neccesity (if that will happen at all)?

I do know this about his weight.....after unifying the belts which will be soon he says he is moving to HW. Dont know how thats gonna work for him but it obviously shows he can get up too 200 lbs.

Its a shame that there is no one at LHW for him so he has too chase the dollars at HW just lke Byrd did but I think he is taller and bigger than bird though

He has a naturally lean body type and as of a couple years ago was fighting at 160. I don't think he could make that anymore, but he moved up to 175 only in his past few fights, and I believe he came in at 172.5 for his most recent bout.

I think he should clean out 175 and wait for name fighters (Taylor, Pavlik, Kessler, et al) who outgrow middleweight and smw. Even four years from now, I bet he could make a catchweight of 170 without too much trouble.

He needs to cash in on at least one name guy at 175, but he doesn't have much time to do it. As much as I'd love to see him take on Calzaghe, that fight just doesn't have the push for it to happen.

I don't like his chances at HW. He'd have zero power and zero chin -- he'd win only by running, and the division doesn't need guys like that. He might grow into a solid cruiser, however.

hell be a top 10 p4p candidate with one more great victory....beating Tarver would probably do it. His wins over Harding and Adamek were impressive, and I think he is most skilled fighter between heavyweight and welterweight.

Is Tarver better than Diaconu at the moment?

diaconu is probably the better fighter at the moment, but you have to beat someone to prove it. Tarver has the name and the resume.

He's a good fighter with not so good career management. After giving Adamek a boxing lesson he should have found some way to keep himself in the headlines. That is what you pay managers to do, sadly most of them don't do it. Dawson is a man who will be ducked by the top moneymakers because he has nothing more to offer than a belt.

Exactly. Dawson has shown himself to be vulnerable at LHW. At HW he would get annihilated by most guys. It would be worse than Bob Foster's forays into the HW division in the 70s.

Dawson is a very good fighter, and likely to accomplish a lot if he stays at LHW or goes up to CW. A move the HW division would be VERY ill-advised, however.

I agree with Illmatic, Dawson is the most skilled fighter between heavyweight and welterweight.

You are silly. I am asking the good analysts who know a lot about him to give an informed, educated appraisal so that silly people like you can learn some/
