This guy was one great boxer:happy I am talking about the comeback george. He used textbook boxing skills, simple skills to become champ. nothing fancy, but very effective. he kept his hands high, used a great jab and blocked/parried well. he often would use the crab defense when in close, but that was very effective. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBNkIJbV7Og&feature=related vs shannon briggs
I disagree. George's comeback opposition was of a dubious standard, and his title win was... not exactly what you would call lucky since he did mean to throw that punch, but I would not have backed him to beat Moorer in a rematch nor did I have back him for a long/quality title reign - and was right about that. He had awesome punch resistance, great power, and some decent skills, but most mobile, careful and skilled hw's of history would have outpointed him comfortably. I'm not a fan of Big George myself, I think his resume and accomplishments are grossly overrated.
