Didn't a certain Eddie Hearn already make this joke? And isn't Fury potentially damaging the standing of his fight by exposing Wilder's lack of name?

 

Yeah Hearn did it in New York, Fury doing it in LA, so clearly doesn't matter if it's east coast or west coast he's not a well known athlete, but that isn't a surprise to anyone.

I don't think it really damages the standing of the fight. The fight isn't going to fail or succeed based off of one video, so late into the promotion, plus only hardcore fans will watch that video and they all know about Wilder's lack of profile in his own country. Fury knows this and is more concerned with mind games now, he's going to try and get under Wilder's skin before the fight.

 

The US is not a boxing nation, people care more about NASCAR and baseball.

This. I used to work in the area on 10th St. where Fury was asking people about Wilder. To be honest those people wouldn’t know who Canelo is either. They would know household names like Ronda Rousey, PAC, Mayweather, Mike Tyson, and even Oscar Etc.

Also, just to throw this out there Ellie Seckback is more well known in Los Angeles than most Boxers.

That said it was pretty Funny. Fury is also surprisingly looking in shape.

 

Let Deontay ask people in the UK who Tyson Fury is. Everyone knows him. Nobody knows Deontay in the USA.
