Simple question. We're not getting into Wladimir Klitschko as a person because from all accounts he seems like a very nice guy.

But as a fighter, he's clinches just as much as John Ruiz and makes even exciting matchups extremely boring. Instead of taking risks like a Joe Frazier or a Mike Tyson, Klitschko clinches on for dear life at the first sight of danger like a little *****. Ibragimov had no business lasting the distance with Klitschko, and yet Wladimir would rather play it safe for 12 rounds and get booed out of the arena than make the fight exciting. The same can be said about Tony Thompson and Hasim Rahman, who had no business lasting as long as they did against Klitschko.

Here's to someone finally stepping up and knocking Klitschko out so that there can actually be an exciting #1 heavyweight in the world. Chris Arreola, James Toney, David Haye... Where are you? The heavyweight division needs you!

Unlike Klitschko, De La Hoya actually had some balls. Could you imagine a scenario in which Klitschko, apparently down on points, comes out in the 12th round and does what De La Hoya did against Quartey?

Klitscko would probably quit after the 11th. He has no business being compared to De La Hoya.

Right now, Klitschko is dominating. Sure, he hasn't fought the stiffest competition, but I'm not sure there are many in the division who could compete with him. Plus, he is very active, usually three fights a year and is trying to fight the best. It's really not his fault the fight with Povetkin didn't happen or that the WBC in all it's glory gave Vitali the fight against Peter. 2009 is a big year for Vlad. Povetkin, then maybe Haye, Arreola, Valuev, Chagaev. I think he fights three of those five in 2009.

Great post, I feel the same way about Wlad. As a person, he seems cool enough, but in the ring he has been boring and has looked scared to engage lately because of his lack of chin and or toughness. Is Wlad dominating? Yes, but look at the competition he has faced lately, these are guys who would make the bum of the month club if Joe Louis was facing them, there no better or worse than the weak competition Tyson faced in the mid to late 80's.

Wlad is a very good fighter, but far from great, he never once beat a great or even faced one for that matter.

Wlad bores me. His bro is much more exciting. Just one man's opinion.

As if Toney has any shot.................:rofl

Chris Arreola & David Haye? No more than an outside puncher's chance & a lot of good that's done Klitschko's latest vistims. Good luck with that hating .

Klitschko was hugging Thompson so much you would think that they were related.

Klitschko is a fraud. Even if he keeps winning, he does it in a style that's so boring to watch that no one will give him credit for his wins and rightfully so. Boxing fans are attracted towards acts of heroism and bravery in the ring. And Klitschko clinching any time his opponent gets within kissing range is about as unheroic and cowardly as it gets. I can't wait until Klitschko gets knocked out yet again.

You're right, KLitschko's in another league. Oscar couldn't mind Wlad's spit bucket.

When was the last time De La Hoya lost to a fighter the caliber of a Ross Puritty, Corrie Sanders, or Lamon Brewster?

    Oh, I forgot. Never!

I like Vlad but his fights suck because his competition is so bad in comparison. Ibragimov is a good fighter but not good enough due to the fact that he could easily make cruiser if he were inclined. Brewster was coming off of career ending eye surgery and lost the fire that made him half assed in the first place. The rematch was a non effort. Rahman was a **** win because he's shot. Austin was a decent win due to the way that Vlad exposed him. Thompson is a good fighter and the fight was watchable but Thompson was not in top shape. Not Vlads fault. I rate Vlad's best wins of late coming against Brock and Peter..........both guys in their prime and both guys were undefeated and came to win. Vlad should be fighting Haye instead of Arreola.

Yeah, because Golota was so much better than Wlad, gimme a ****in' break.

    Are you guys serious?

You don't remember how lame the HW division was when Joe Louis ruled? Does anyone remember the infamous "bum of the month" club? How about Marciano's reign against former Cruisers & old Louis, or Larry Holmes who fought the great Tex Cobb & Jerry frickin' Cooney. Tyson feasted on some serious threats in his rise to the top didn't he?

    Revisionist history at it's best.

Golota would've starched Wlad and his china chin within 3 rounds.
