i like Klitschko as a fighter. And he certainly doesn't clinch as much as John Ruiz. Wladimir is cleaning out the HW division and has not ducked anyone. He hasa great jab and great power itme will tell if he can find a rival that can be a Frazier to his Ali, or a Holyfield to his Lewis.

I'd like to say when people started saying he (Wla...mr) had a bad chin he started working through it in his mind. They say it for the strong possibility it will get to his mind. But they keep saying it because they think that if they can get a steady amount of people saying it they can get to him. They have no interest (Mostly all ?)of seeing him attack and entertain. I believe he is tentative clearly. Who would think that would ever happen an observer of human interaction a social scientist?? Feel the love of christmas.:-((

Wladimir boxes smart and Emanuel Steward teaches him how to do that.

Wlad is a intelligent man. He is the best heavyweight in the world today.

Hitting the opponent and not get hit is a part ob boxing! Some of you should listen to the ref. "Protect yourself all the time!"

cooney has only two good wins in his record: a way past prime norton, and a 40-year-old lyle. he had good power, but he mainly was hyped because he was white. his power also looked good because he was hitting guys from 187-214 pounds (many of them below 200). imagine if wlad landed his shots on cw opposition - he would send them in a coma.

i don't mind wladimir. he's not the most exciting guy, but more often than not, you get to see a stoppage or a tko/ko.

I like Wlad because he is a great boxing technician who just consistently makes his opponents fight his fight. He doesn't need to change up his style when it works so perfectly for him. Also he can work the body very well as he did in the Thompson fight. His withering punches to the body are what made Thompson gas late in the fight but most of the time Wlad weakens and destroys his opponents with his awesome jab, left hook off the jab and triple lead left hooks. The Arreola fight should be a good one as Chris is very tough and has a attacking, swarming style that could confuse Wlad for awhile. Wlad will figure him out, though, and may get the K.O. when Chris charges him once too often.

Out of interest, are you black? Or hate anyone who isn't American?

Cooney would have been destroyed by Wlad, as would a LOT of fighters in the history of boxing.

I don’t like him as a fighter. I root against him in almost every fight he has (Not against Rahman).
I recognize he’s skills, but he’s boxing style and my friend who glorifies him annoys me.

But then again, boxing wouldn’t be as fun to follow, if there weren’t both, those who to cheer for and against.

Cooney was such white hype,,,,the media called him it to his face,,,,an andrew was borderline white hype,,,,,wlad is the real mckoy,,,,boxes, has poweres, his best victory to date was his first fight with byrd, byrd at that point was said impossible to hit, were wlad made it look like a cake walk,,,peters, mcline, at the time had balls, lost them after fighting wlad, Austin was another great victory, using only the left.....he pretty much fought ring magizines top 10 for the last 8 years, or his mandatorys, that pretty sold to me....

I'm sorry, but I absolutely detest Wladimir Klitschko as a fighter. I don't care how effective he is, he is the most comatose-inducing fighter I've ever seen. The guy is terrified to get clipped on the chin and puts us all through round after round of guard and prod, guard and prod, guard and prod...

Give me his brother any day, a warrior.

I like WK b/c of his systematic approach to analyze his opponent, break him down, and finially finish him - while never being in danger himself.
His defense is perfect now. He won't be catched again off guard. he applies clinching if he needs it (yes, clinching is a legal tactic!).

He simply is a class of his own. He has boxed always the best *available* opponents who then turned out to be not competitive against him.

Maybe his style is not crowd pleasing, but his approach, his ring mastership fascinates me.

I voted no only on the basis that I was spoiled by fighters in the 60's and 70's...a great era for the division. Having said that he is probably the 2nd best proven heavyweight at this moment in time and that has to stand for something. Both he and his brother seem like top blokes.

Wald is not exciting and will never be in a good fight because he's very cautious. He’s a very good boxer with great power and coordination for a big guy, but his chin is weak. That’s way he tries to keep as much distance as possible from his opponent.

It's really foolish to argue that Vlad is expected to drop his guard and fight recklessly just to make a fight more interesting. That is completely ridiculous. The entire point in boxing is to win, and to win in as dominating a fashion as possible. That is exactly what Vlad does, even though it's not exciting. As for Tyson and Frazier, they fought aggressively and traded punches because that was their natural style, and not because they wanted to make their fights interesting. In fact, if Tyson and Frazier had held back and tried to play it safe, they would have lost control of their bouts and been knocked out.If Vlad had fought recklessly against Ibragimov or Rahman and been knocked while far ahead on points, people would be criticizing him for fighting stupidly when he had victory locked up.
