I root for boxing over country, honestly. But, if a fighter I like is from another country, I will say, "I sure wish he was American. He would be perfect then, because the sports writers and experts would give him the true respect he deserves."

I love boxing. I have rooted against American fighters hundreds of times. My favorite heavyweight was Lennox Lewis. I love watching Mexican fighters the most. My favorite fighters right now are Sugar Shane and Miguel Cotto.

I can understand having pride in your country/fighters, but this hating on other countries fighters and **** talking I will never understand. Most the time its done by very simple minded individuals.

hey I'm also from MOntreal and I don't think Diaconu or Pascal are that good either. But I think Alcine and Bute are very good even though Alcine just got KO'd he was doing pretty well and i think in a rematch he can beat Santos. Also I think Molitor is good.

btw i love both boxing and my city so i will support montreal fighters but i will watch fighters from anywhere in the world also

Put it this way....if a russian boxer was fighting against Israel Vazquez, Glen Johnson, or Cotto i would be pulling for these fighters to win....because i always support them

I love the sport. I could care less what country they hail from. If they're great, they're great.

Generally want my countrymen to win, but not to the point where I get to giving the opponent **** over their nationality. I did want Haye to beat Maccarinelli, though (and Hamed to beat Steve Robinson, as well - **** knows why, in hindsight).

I'm half Puerto Rican half Dominican and while I've liked fighters hailing from all over the globe, I'm going to be perfectly honest here and say that Trinidad was my favorite fighter and he was replaced by Cotto, who will more than likely be replaced by the next great Puerto Rican superstar in the making.

So yeah, my countrymen tend to find their way into my favorites, though it's not a requirement or anything for me to be a big fan of a boxer. Pacman, Morales, Linares 'avatar', and the Marquez's are all among my favorites and none of them hail from the Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico.

Im with you on that one Mexican Legend, but if the boxer is from Puerto Rico like me i get extra motivated and excited for the fights it is in our blood. I gave Hopkins his props when he beat Tito and Margarito his when he beat Cotto, im not a bad loser...

I don't usually care what Country boxers are from when I'm supporting them.

There is nothing better for me than watching MAB schooling Hamed.

Amen. My favorite fighter all time is Kid Gavilan. He's afro-cuban, and i'm an alaskan white boy lol. Doesn't make any difference to me where they are from. Generally though I like to root for mexican fighters.

And actually I think boxing fans are some of the most worldly/educated people. If you follow your boxing you learn about geography, history, other cultures, etc just from following the sport and being a fan.
