Floyd had a great career, he would be remembered as an atg/hof, but boxing needs to move on, boxing is fresher than any time in the 21th century.

I do miss seeing Floyd in action and experiencing his fistic artistry of the highest caibre, but hope he stays retired: he always said he would retire from boxing with his wealth and his faculties intact, and that he wouldn't hang in and wait for boxing to retire him.

Whether you love him or loathe him, it's hard not to admire the fact that Floyd Mayweather Jr, in this sport whereby the combatants sacrifice and give so much of themselves, went out at the top, and went out on his own terms (which, sadly, is something which very few boxers seem to have the wherewithal to do).

There is that (IV-gate, which was extremely insidious due to it being banned by WADA, and USADA granting Mayweather an exemption some three weeks after the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight), along with history of domestic violence charges, and the whole back-and-forth wrangling with Bob Arum and Manny Pacquiao over making the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight happening. (Which, if we're being honest, should have happened in 2009-10.)

To make it clear, I was never a fan of Floyd as a person; but his talent was undeniable. Sugar Ray Robinson and Joe Louis were known to beat their wives; but that shouldn't take away from their talent or taint their respective legacies.

To me, Floyd's career became a joke once it became all too clear how he's been cheating the sport for as long as he has been able to. It's really obvious that the guy's a PED cheat and has been for quite some time (I would guess since the Mosley fight).

Floyd Mayweather jr was NOT!! a fighter. He couldn't FIGHT!! to save his life. He was a cowardly PED's soaked CHEAT!!!!! A Prima Donna. I have never seen a FIGHTER!! Cry & complain after a fight he really lost when he said " Maidana beat me up &roughed me up in the fight & referee Tony Wilkes did nothing to protect me "
ROFLMAO !! A fighter would fight back like a man Floyd cried like a baby. He hired Kenny Bayless to protect him & stop Maidana fighting, like Joe Cortez always did. Like I said Mayweather hadn't the cojones to FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

I miss Mr. Leonard Ellerbe's corner work and tactical genius more than I miss Floyd to be honest.
