Do you personally think Hopkins is CURRENTLY amongst the best 5 boxers on the planet?

    Dude, are you ****ing brain dead?

    If Joe beats Hopkins, I put him #3 behind Mayweather and Paquiao ASSUMING they win their next bouts. If Mayweather of Pacman lose, Joe may go as high as #2; if they BOTH lose, I may make Joe #1.

    Are you following this rather simple series of possibilities? Or do I need to elaborate further?

    Again, though, it's all moot, for Hopkins is going to *****-slap Calzaghe, who has been GROSSLY overrated ever since he beat the 1-dimensional hype-job, Jeff Lacy.

    I assumed you were overreaching...and gave you too much credit for a rather sophisticated argument:

    Thought you were arguing that e.g. Dawson would beat Hopkins after Calzaghe beats Hopkins and that this in itself would help Joe climb a place in the rankings from 3 to 2 on the basis that Joe must have destroyed Hopkins if he then gets beaten by Dawson, and that this would make Joe's win post facto, count for more...

    Tarver was an above average fighter at best in the right place at the right time.The fact that Tarver was top 10 when Hopkins beat him is a sad indictement of boxing .Winky was useless at 170lbs and was an utterly meaningless encounter. This idea of Hopkins as an atg is being fabricated out of all proportion.

    Yes until someone beats him, which will happen soon IMO. Wright shouldn't have fought him at this weight.
