Do you rank Povetkin higher than Wilder now?

Wilder isn't that 'big'. Nor is he that 'good' either. A good big man was Wladimir Klitschko. Anthony Joshua might be, but he is still relatively not proven enough yet.

Wilder proved he was practically on the level of Johann Duhaupas. How good does that prove he is? The difficulties he experienced against Duhaupas, was the difficulty Joshua experienced against 41 year old Wladimir Klitschko. In other words, making Duhaupas look like Wladimir Klitschko.

And we of course saw what Povetkin did to that same Duhaupas. He exposed the huge gap in level between himself and Duhaupas by beating him easily. The level difference was obvious for us to all see.

A proper example of someone wobbling was when Wilder fought Eric Molina and wobbled after taking a punch. Not Povetkin against Price.

Duhaupas is the one Wilder fight I never seen actually, don’t get me wrong I know Wilders limitations as a boxer and I don’t even like him and yet I’d pick him to beat Povetkin as you can just easily pick out fights where Povetkin has looked very ordinary and not long ago either. After his ban, however justified he looked poor.
Anyway looks like we will never see Wilder v Povetkin anyway, unless of course Povetkin beats AJ.

I still think Wilder is a hella dangerous HW. Power and size like his is an equalizer against more skilled technicians. But the Wilder fans need a come to jesus moment, and look at his resume and actions. And for f***'s sake...do so without having to bring up AJ. Wilder's resume for as many fights as he's had, and for his 7 defenses is just horrible!! All this 'picking sides' crap does absolutely nothing for anyone...

Is Povetkin still high? I would have hoped he stopped doing drugs by now.

I rank Wilder higher right now, he has a belt, his recent win over Ortiz is better than any of Povetkins recent wins and of course Povetkin is faded and was done for PEDs.

obviously not. Pov has never been close to winning a title, let alone defending one, though wilder is a weak excuse for a titlist.

Wilder being a weak titlist doesnt actually make Povetkin better for being merely a contender.- their abilities are mutually exclusive.

Yes of course. Wilder only fights cripples, fat men, school teachers and pastry chefs. He is not a legitimate champion or even contender.

Povetkin >>> Wilder by both the eye test and by his record.

    He always has.

    In my opinion.

    Povetkin's best 3 wins.
    Bryd, Chambers, Chageav

    Deontay's best 3 wins.
Stiverne first fight, Washington, and grandpa Ortiz.

    Closer look.
    Chris Bryd,
A good skilled, light punching undersized heavyweight. Coming off a stoppage loss to Wlad. Past Prime and old basically.

    Eddie Chambers
A small skilled light punching heavyweight, with a recent split decision win over former title challenger Calvin Brock. Eddie after losing against Povetkin via decision, was brutally KOed by Wlad, and had a failed cruiser weight stint. He trained and lived in a caravan, with the Fury clan, while losing to his daddy Gerald Washington.

    Chageav
Former wba champ. Recent loss against Wlad Klitschsko. Had health problems, coming off wins against Kali Meehan, and Travis Walker. Not shot enough to lose against a bouncer yet. But the weight problem was beginning to show. Povetkin was experimenting with the meldonium at this stage, but just didn't quite have enough to get a stoppage or knockdown, lol.

    Gerald Washington
Undefeated at the time. Wins over fomer title challengers Ray Austin, and Eddie Chambers. Drew against a fearsome prison boxing champion, and ex convict Amir Mansour.

    Bermane Stiverne.
Just one controversial stoppage loss against Demetrice King. Who was a very stocky 270lb man, who even David Tua had to box, to get the decision win.. Bermane when in shape, blew out former world title challenger Ray Austin, in 10 rounds. Then KO' d a in shape Arreola, who has wins over former title challenger Jameel McCline, and at the time, America's best loved hard hitting top rated prospect Seth Mitchell.

    Luis grandpa Ortiz
A long successful amateur boxing pedigree. Undefeated, skilled boxer, and big puncher. With wins over former world title challenger Tony Thompson, and Bryant Jennings. Was briefly promoted by the bodybuilder's promoter, but Eddie felt he was too dangerous to set up against his own cash cow. So the fight against the divisions bogeyman, was cancelled. Deontay was called up by the bomb squad, and promptly dealt with the threat. lol.

Windmiller usually starts so slow and cautious that I could see Pov dragging Wilder into a brawl almost right from the get go. Pov has a granite chin whilst 'The Hybrid' has no chin. Beoncey is pretty easy to hit and Pov throws punches in bunches and has proven himself at world level time and time again.

Although Pov is somewhat past prime, he still has technical and experience advantages over the Alabama Gobshite so, yes, I do believe Pov to still be ahead of Bambi legs. In my humble opinion, Anthony 'the Duck' Joshua (at least according to the Alabama shithouse) is taking on the biggest threat to his title reign available in his 22nd fight.

Your too hateful to even try to give 3G a fair look. Do you research anything? Like, ever? Feel free to look up the 10 ten opponents each has faced. Take a look at who actually ducked 3G over the years. It's all there to be found.

But you prefer to hate him and fans....and come in and say stupid things 22. When you actually contribute something worth reading, that'll be the day.

I would have bet a lot of money on Povetkin KOing Wilder in 2016, and still think there's a significant chance he would do so if they fought tomorrow, but no; I do not rate him higher than Wilder. At least not any more. Even with the mitigating factors (suspect age, serious health conditions) Wilder's win over Ortiz is better and more relevant than anything Sasha has done since his loss to Wlad. Pov is still a top 3-5 HW, and a danger to any HW boxer but objectively speaking I can't provide an argument for him still being a top 2 HW right now. If he beats Joshua (once again; he has a very decent chance) he goes to the top of the pile, but until then he's mingling with Ortiz and Parker as a top contender.

It's Joshua, then Wilder, then Sasha/Ortiz/Parker (you can make an argument for any order to be honest), then everybody else.

Unlike Wilder, Povetkin has never been cautiously matched. He's more courageous than Wilder, and always willing to fight anyone, anywhere.

Povetkin eagerly accepted the fight with Joshua, while Wilder behaved like a craven dog who barks a lot but then runs away from a fight.
