Sorry but the only two words that come immediately to mind are...

    BIG WHOOP

Let him beat Chagaev, Peter and Haye in the same year and then come talk to me. Until he has the rematch with Peter, all of these other nothing fights mean just that, nada.

Those are three very good wins (Sultan, Thompson, and Povetkin). Fact is that Wlad is running out of opponents. He already beat Peter. This Haye talk is crap, he doesn't deserve Wlad yet. Chagaev is good, but I don't think he beats Wlad.

He should roll Thompson, but not so sure about Povetkin. Let him win, then we can talk again.

Wlad continues to fight the best out there intermingled with a few mandatory opponents

let him beat Chagaev Peter and Haye in the same year?

come on assuming that those three fights can be made and won in one year all you'll say afterwards is that Chagaev was overrated, peter barely got by McCline so wlad should have won easier, and Haye wasn't even a real heavyweight

he can't win no matter what for some people

Well to those of you who don´t respect boxrec, these 3 are also ranked in the Ring magazine top 10 and fightnews top 10.

There is some truth to that. The division is certainly not that good at the time, but what I´m pointing out is that Wlad is really doing a good job of facing the best he can out of a not so impressive bunch. Personally I´d rather see Wlad fight Chagaev, Valuev or rematch Peter, but these are all tied up for now. Hopefully Wlad can fight some of them next year.

They are the best available opponents and they are mandatory defenses.

Yeah, I think those would be three nice wins in 08, Ibragimov, Thompson and Povetkin. Like someone said, Wlad has already beaten Peter. He'd probably beat Chagaev likewise. Chagaev has the rematch with Valuev to come. I want to see Wlad in 09 with the likes of the Hayemaker now!

Well, THAT version of Krasniqi would be an easy fight for every TOP30 boxer. But he also beat Guinn and T. Ibragimov. No world class fighters either but having beaten those three guys he certainly deserves a fight against Wlad.

Haye has still to prove that he's a top10 heavyweight.

If the guy had more heart he'd get respect.

Pretty much every opponent a Title Holder fights in every weight division will be from the boxrec top-10 in their division. It's rare that they aren't, and if they are it's usually only because the opponent is stepping up a division.

This boxrec ranking of the opponent is no big deal really. I mean, Ruiz is #7 FFS! Maskaev & Brewster are just outside the top-10... are they still even active fighters?? :verysad

The fact that he's fighting 3 times in a year is the impressive part. I give him massive respect for that alone.
