Its a shame because Wlad no matter how good and dominating his wins are will never get the accolade he deserves.

Who cares, Thompson is nothing special, just like Iggy, who's best wins came against 46 yearold Holyfield and Shannon "The Inhaler" Briggs, neither of which he even came close to knocking out or even hurting for that matter. Povetkin is a pretty good win, but certainly not a great win, if he fights Valuev or Peter again, then I will be interested.

To say that just because Wlad already beat Sam Peter nearly three years ago doesn't rule out the NECESSITY of a rematch, in my opinion. Here's why:

    1) The fight was actually ENTERTAINING, something which the heavyweight division desperately lacks right now. Peter knocked Wlad down three times (granted it can be argued that two of them were the result of hitting behind the head) and Peter himself was also wobbled late. It was a really good fight to watch.

    2) Samuel Peter has improved a lot since the last time he fought Wlad. Some people might disagree with me on this, but he went the distance twice with Toney, showed a LOT of determination to come back from three knockdowns to beat Jameel McCline, and took out Oleg Maskaev in the 6th (and he almost had him in the 2nd). Peter isn't afraid of anyone right now, and HE knows that Wlad is the reason for that "1" he has in his loss column that he would love to avenge.

Peter is THE opponent for Wlad right now, as he would give the fans their moneysworth and allow himself or Wlad to leave the ring with three of the four heavyweight belts at the end of the night.

That being said, I also wouldn't be opposed to seeing Wlad vs. Povetkin or Wlad vs. Haye. Both of those look to be exciting fights and so far Povetkin has shown a lot of determination the way he has risen through the ranks so quickly. To me, Wlad is a VERY impressive fighter and I look forward to seeing what else he can do at this point in his career.

Once again I will say it... THE heavyweight fight and THE ONLY heavyweight fight IS Wlad v.s. Peter II. Hurry up and slap-jab Thompson to a UD and then do the same to Povetkin. The we can have the fight everyone wants and the HW division NEEDS DESPERATELY.... Wlad v.s. Peter II

Four of Wladimir's last seven opponents were undefeated prior to fighting him, Thompson has 1 loss going into the fight, and Povetkin is undefeated. If Wlad runs the table and beats Thompson and Povetkin it will just make his run all the more impressive.

I don't care for Klitschko one way or the other but I do acknowledge that he is by far the best fighter in the division and that probably will not change.
