Do you really believe that Haye can beat Vitali?

No way Haye puts himself in position to be in that situation. Toe to toe with Vitali? Nope.

We'll see I guess. All comes down to what Vitali does when Haye attacks. When he came after Wlad he just backed up and got out of danger ASAP, so there was never going to be much engaging in that fight. Vitali's defence is more about leaning back out to avoid punches and firing back than getting the **** out of range.

So when David comes in with his single wild axe pot shots then Vitali will be in range to counter. I don't see Haye closing the distance without paying a price and I've never seen David willing to pay the price. In point of fact, I don't know David is capable of paying the price at HW.

Vitali has no power, Haye would not need to be anywhere near as cautious as he was against Wlad. If he gets Vitali to lead he can walk him on to punches.

For a start I should just clarify that I don't actually have a pick of which fighter would win, although I favour Vitali.

I just think their styles match up a lot better than a Haye - Wlad fight, which I never saw looking much different to how it turned out, due to Haye being wary of his ability to take Wlad's power and struggling to get to Wlad when he did attack, and Wlad doing anything he can to avoid being hit or engaging (mainly backing up faster than Haye can close the distance and clinching and leaning as soon as he got his own jab/right hand off).

Against Wlad, when he did attack he actually tried stringing 2-3 together, but Wlad just moves out of range so quick he couldn't get near him. But when Haye came in off balance and wide open he never sought to make him pay, instead reseting and coming in back behind the jab. It was a good game plan to nullify any threat Haye posed.

Vitali won't be backing up like that - for one he doesn't have the legs anymore, and he also isn't as cautious about being hit as Wlad. Therefore, when Haye does attack he will either land or pay the price for leaving himself open. Hence why I think this is a more interesting fight.

Well then we should see a better fight. If Vitali still has the reflexes and control of range to avoid Haye's shots then he should be in position to make him pay, if he doesn't then we'll see what happens when he's hit.

As rarely as it happened I would say lunging in on Wlad and leaving himself wide open was an example of that, and if Wlad had been willing to make him pay the price in their fight then he could have got the KO.

Bottom line is I'd like to see this fight because I'm bored of seeing Vitali fight slow plodders who just stand in front of him and give him target practice. If he's going to fight on I'd rather see him in with someone who is defensively able than someone who's just going to absorb shots for 12 rounds.
