Yes. You can't just swarm Floyd anymore. He learned this from those Castillo fights, fighting a naturally bigger man. There is no poor man's Roberto Duran today with all around skills who can beat Floyd.

 

Castillos jab had no effect on floyd. it was da body work and condtioning making it possible to constantly stalk and throw power shots.
Castillo landed 3-1 on power in 1 but floyd was fighting wit one hand.

you have to make Mayweather come to you, make him the agressor, the jab will give you points, a solid right will keep May Honest. He is looking to counter limit those oppurtunities with a stiff jab a hard right and ur out. Jab jab and keep distance give him little to counter force him to open up

 

You need a jab to beat Floyd, and you aren't killing two birds with one stone, lmao.

 

Floyd has a very stiff and well measured, accurate, snappy jab and that is a great weapon along with his lead left hook so that he can keep his man off him and relax to think on charging in with that sneaky right lead. I don't think you need a jab if you can use your head and body movement, fast legs and move inside to work hard on him there. Kinda smother him and that will require a referee to warn him about the use of the elbow and that should be done with body punching combined with well placed short inside punching and clinching. If a guy can hold Mayweather in that position, or moving straight back, with his back against the ropes and leaning back, doing shoulder rolling and moving along the ropes most of the times, Floyd is in big trouble cause he doesn't fight hard inside and he needs his legs to move away and reset himself all over again but body punching will affect his legs. Hatton was about to do it but not with his head presented as a clear target for Floyd's right hand leading and charging in straightforward to be caught with everything including the famous check left hook near the corner.
