Jones is a good fighter but i think rua is on another level. I won't be surprise if shogun tko or ko bones in the first round. This dude is a beast.

  2. It's a strange situation matching these two up. Shoguns style is proven against dynamic strikers and wrestlers, he might not getting better from here but after seeing his recent Machida whoopings it's hard to logically support Jones standing up.

He should be 100%. The only thing he'll probably have trouble is ad******g his fight plan in training. He was training to fight rashad who was a wrestler and now have to train for bones who is mostly known for his striking.

I think it's better for shogun cuz he loves to strike that is why i give rua the edge in this fight. He has the better striking and is deadly with those muay thai knees.

I think it works in Rua's favour, I have a feeling Jones will try and take this to the ground. Jon has great striking so he'll play to his advantage over Rua which is he's wrestling, but Rua's already been preparing for this kind of attack. Either way can't wait for this fight!

BTW I voted YES, he has the skills to beat Rua, but I believe Rua will have his hand raised at the end.

Of course he can. Shogun is coming off of another surgery and almost a year of inactivity. Jones is young, but he has the potential to beat anyone in the division.

:good yea jones got the talent but most of his wins have been against wrestlers. Hamill-bader etc. He actually lost to hamill by DQ but he was whooping his ass before the DQ. I was impress at how he beat vera. I thought vera would have given him a good challenge striking wise.

He's a good wrestler but he mixed it up more than just beating his opponent with his wrestling. He would strike and fight on the ground that is why i like rua in this fight. I believed he could catch jones when they're standing and hurt him.

Plus rua has been training for evans who has been using his wrestling more the last couple of fights.Rua is already prepared for this fight to go to the ground.

Jones will only stand long enough to take Shogun to the ground. I can almost guarantee that.

I saw the bonner fight. I didn't really paid much attention to him until i saw him dominate hamill only to be disqualified for illegal elbows.I was very impress with him beating bader. The guy is pretty talented but like i said shogun is just on another level right now.

He can. But I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't

Jones is talented, and probably the biggest light heavy in the history of MMA.

I'm of the opinion that Shogun should win, but I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Jones ragdolls him.

i think jones could go to become THE dominant figure in the light heavyweights, probably pound for pound king. is this fight too much, too soon??...maybe..but even if he fails at this attempt it will only be a blip, jones star will continue its meteoric rise....

make no mistake, rua will have to be 100% focussed and 100% fit here to take the victory....im not sitting on the fence but i really find it a hard pick.....but my gut is actually going to side with youth, strenght and potential and say that jones will take this one
