I am not talking about the body shot, but the first big punch that Kovalev landed in round 3, just before the first knock down. As soon as that, you could see Cleverly totally fold and the body shot came about 45 seconds later, but by then all Cleverly was doing is just covering up.

Watch the fight. First big punch that lands in a head shot. Then the first knock down is also a head shot. By the time the body shot came, Cleverly was long gone. He was actually turning away from Kovalev's punches. How is that going down on his sword? You are revising history there.

As far as I know Karpency hasn't been mentioned,or his recent result against Chad Dawson. I don't think Cleverly deserved to be world champion but his record looks at least decent opposite Bellews. Both can be decent cruisers, but whoever gets this one is the only one to get a title shot, and I think it will again be a close run thing.

Don't think Clev showed a lack of heart at all - he was doing ok then got put on ***** street by the biggest banger in the division, once of which he got smacked in the back of the head whilst going down.

The round before the stoppage he was absolutely ****ed but still came out for the next round.

It would have been a hard road back at light heavy with Stevenson and kovalev.

I think he took that fight to kind of emulate calzaghe with lacy. Maybe he thought he could do a number on him and get huge respect and massive fights but it didn't work obviously. Need respect for taking it though.

It all depends how it affected him. He seems to e doing well. A win next week should really nice him on from the loss as it carries so much pride and bragging rights.
