Do you respect Floyd Mayweather now that he is fighting Canelo Alvarez?

Yep too bad he didn't fight those 3 top rank guys even though he was willing to according to Arum but Arum wasn't willing to pay what Floyd wanted

criticised pac for catchweight, then makes a catchweight fight, had respect for him before this, but he and his fanboys are huge hypocrites - good fight, floyd UD 115-113/116-112

I'm not pissed off, Mr Jotat Pound-for-Pound. What gives you that impression? I'm relatively unmoved by this announcement, as it's something I'd been expecting for weeks anyway. The only thing that's caught me off guard is that it's a catchweight fight. I was expecting Floyd to let him come in at 154. That's all. But it's no big deal. 152 is fair.

I semi respect him for taking it but the catchweight after his slander campaign + all his bull**** about wanting Cotto at his best just makes him look incredibly ******ed.

  7. I don't respect him untill both stand in the ring. I have the feeling, Floyd "injures his hand" a la Haye, after get scared to death of Charr during the staredown.

You can't please these **** bitches. Just look at their reasoning for bashing this fight. Oh Floyd said this and that about catchweights! He was saying **** to dig at PAC and company. Stop taking **** so serious. Plus there will be a major under card for this fight as well. Lmao

Yeah I don't really understand the CW of 152 although Canelo didn't seem to mind, but I'm just glad this fight has been signed.

I respect Floyds talent and skills as a fighter and love watching his mastery of the art, but outside the ring he's a bit of an idiot. As for this fight, glad it's getting made, but I'm not entirely happy about the 152lb limit. People can say it wont make any difference until they are blue in the face, but they are kidding themselves. 2lbs will be pretty detremental to a fighter I feel is already struggling to make 154 and has stamina issues.

I'm pretty sure if Alvarez moved up to 160 he'd have a ton more energy and not tire mid way into a contest. He's going to have to start managing his weight now imo and start his camp early if he's to stand any chance. I'm inclined to say Mayweather is going to put a beating on a tired Alvarez after 7-8 rounds.

  12. The catchweight of 152 is reasonable, Canelo will still be a healthy strong fighter on fight night, it's just an attempt to reduce the huge size advantage he has. I still expect Canelo to weigh 168+ on fight night.

Canelo is a young man, it won't hinder him dropping 2lbs, if he was 38 years old and tight at the weight then yes it would make a difference but it's not the case.

Yeah me too, so I'm not too sure how much of a difference this makes.

Me either, I dont think fight night weight will play any role in the matchup. If Canelo was a sustained pressure fighter with a high work rate then yeah, but the only real advantage being bigger will have is his ability to absorb more punishment.

Bad style matchup for Alvarez, although he did surprise me against Trout and showed he can adjust, so who knows? I'm still expecting an 8-4, 9-3 in favour of Floyd here.
