To an extent I do, he is a great fighter, and probably the greatest SMW ever. But I feel he has ducked numerous fighters, is in it for the money, and his cherrypicking of Jones while Pavlik could have been made was a complete ***** move. He can **** off into retirement for all I care. He used to be my favourite fighter, but I think the Jones saga has revealed his true colours.
You think he is ducking Pavlik? And he was your favorite fighter? This was the only window of opportunity to fight RJJ. That fight had to be done now, or it would never be done ever. His respect to RJJ. Also, when he DOES fight Pavlik next year, after Pavlik beats Hopkins, we'll all be ready for an epic fight. Pavlik will have to hope for an old JC, or speed up his hands and feet if he stands any chance of beating Calzaghe.
He wrote in his auto biography that Jones was shot and he had NO intentions of fighting Jones. We have web footage of him saying the same thing and saying PAVLIK was the fight he wanted. He has show disdain for fighting Jones. NOT RESPECT. Take off the blinders.
I respect Calzaghe as a competitor and as a winner, he's one of the most intense sportsmen boxing has ever seen. As an practicioner however, I have as much respect for him as he does for the artform, and that's very little.
