With De La Hoya weighing-in exactly at 147 and at around 155+ lbs. on fight night...

I said YES becuz assuming a rematch above the 147# limit, say 154. Nonetheless PAC came to win and he won, KUDOS!

If he lost weight properly, ate properly, and came in at 154ish on fight night, he'd be a chance. But in reality he just needs to let it go, he isn't up to it anymore.

If DLH came in heavier, he might win a round or two..

Oscar is definitely past his best, but I'm not sure he's shot. I think people are making a big deal about him being shot. Usually shot fighters are the guys who don't have the reflexes or the chin to with-stand an onslaught. Oscar looked like he could take punches, just no reflexes. Weight drainage has a huge affect on reflexes and power. During this fight he looked weight drained more than anything. He looked like a scare-crow. I was watching his old welter-weight fights and there is just no comparison to how he looked physically (not technically).

However, because of the beating he took I can't imagine him re-gaining the confidence to beat Manny. I think if he initially had come in the right weight then he would have lost the initial rounds due to speed, but eventually battered and knocked Manny out with heavy shots.

Oscar should concentrate on re-gaining his strength and deciding if he really wants to keep fighting or not. He has a lot going on for him as a promoter and if he kept to it full time he can probably bring up some stars. Oscar seems to be the only guy with some sense of what the public wants when it comes to boxing.

If chooses to keep fighting it should only be for a few more at 154 where he is healthy. Because of his status he's gonna want some big names and the only big names I can see him competitive against are Cotto (cause it's too big for him), Hatton (cause it's too big for him), Mosley and Trinidad. If he can beat one of them, just retire and focus on promoting.

Then why did we pay for all those ppv fights with Mayorga and Mayweather? I doubt a shot fighter could have gone 12 with Mayweather and lost a SD. That speaks for itself. Oscar was not a shot fighter he just lost to a great fighter with tremendous speed and a guy willing to take chances. Oscar never wanted to take chances in fights.

Bit of a redundant poll given the one-sided nature of the beating.

No positives to take from that fight. A resounding NO!

Not a chance. Even with the heavier weight, Oscar would still be stuck in molasses. To beat Pacquiao, you have to be a high volume puncher with good hand speed. Oscar has neither of those attributes.
