Do you see AJ developing significantly while training with Usyk?

would be amazing if Usyk takes that role during the Fury fight. also, useful, who better to give tips on strategy against Fury? Or to point out AJ’s mistakes?

 

certainly showed it against Dubois. Kept getting up despite that hellacious beating. Didn’t quit on his stool when it would have been fair (and smart) to. Kept going until he got knocked clean out.

 

I feel like Joshua has always had a lot of the tools. He is big, tall, athletic, hits hard and has shown toughness even in the fights he's lost. I have been critical of him plenty of times but I feel like working with Usyk can solve some of his bigger problems. I feel training with and like Usyk may loosen him up and make him more relaxed. I think he also is too heavy and training to fight like Usyk will likely get him down in weight which should help more with his conditioning. I think if he gets quicker, a little sharper and better conditioned he can win some important fights

 

Maybe if he’d been 26 instead of 36. He has the size and power to go in to his 40s but I can’t see Usyk making any fundamental changes

How many Trainers has Joshua had since Mcracken ? Has he improved sine he left Mcracken ? No he hasn’t for the simple reason it’s the mental side that has let Joshua down time and again .

 

I actually think it’s a smart tactic before the Fury fight. Probably annoys Fury and Usyk will give Joshua confidence as being trained by the only man to beat Fury. Twice.

AJ definitely seems to have been taken in by some that talk a good game like Davidson but Angel Fernandes was the big mistake
Has to be the worst high level trainer out there

 

He has a cool name though which is really half the battle when it comes to boxing trainers.

AJ has clearly had some of the worst trainers possible, but we've also got to be sure to mention Eddie Hearn. He's been both a blessing and a curse to AJ. A blessing in the fact that he made AJ filthy rich, but a curse in that he only cares about money and AJ was his cash cow. So he pushed AJ too far too fast. This guy was doing stadiums before he'd even hit 15 fights.

Eddie also cares way to much about PR and he infected AJ with that nonsense. Trying to turn AJ into this clean-cut goody-two-shoes so he could sell more tickets. Also, way too sensitive to how the media will treat AJ when he loses. That's why he completely overreacted to the 2nd loss to Usyk. AJ flipped out and had a bit of a meltdown, sure. Otherwise, he actually fought extremely well and had never looked that good in his entire career. But what does Hearn do right after the fight? We have to rebuild Anthony Joshua! We're going to get him some manageable fights and work him back to title contention! Why? What AJ needed was a kick in the pants and someone to bring his aggression back 100%. He'd taken a huge step in that rematch and just needed to keep that up. Maybe one easy-ish fight was ok. Instead, Hearn gave him a string of C-level guys, culminating with Ngannou. That did absolutely dick all to prepare AJ for facing a top level, aggressive guy like Dubois.

Then there's other Hearn screw-ups like picking Miller as an opponent for AJ's American debut when everyone in the biz must have known Miller was the world's biggest sted-head. So now you have to get a late replacement. Does Eddie do the smart thing, realize the event is ruined, and just find some easy can for AJ to knock over? Nah. Eddie loves that money. So he goes and picks a Mexican to try and save his event from a monetary standpoint. Except this idiot picks a tank with ultra-fast hands who is nothing like Miller at all.

 

Some valid points but dazn pushed the fight in America even when Miller failed,that show had to go ahead as it was dazn with the big unveiling of Joshua to the American public in the hopes of getting more American subscriptions and to break into the huge PPV market over there and to further establish there platform. We all know how that went unfortunately! Hearn like you say loves to make his money off Joshua’s popularity and Joshua was meant to fight Ngannou before fury did and was also meant to be the one fighting Rico not Usyk but it fell apart and Usyk stepped in,Hesrn seemingly a big fan of crossover fights for Joshua. Joshua has a tremendous deal with dazn which ended his 9 year deal with Sky,this deal made dazn the home for all Joshua’s fights whilst also naming him there Global Ambassador and special advisor to the company,Hearn will want to ride the financial wave that Joshua can make for as long as possible .

 

There will always be an optimism around Joshua from fans who saw him "win" gold in 2012.

Joshua's skill starts and ends with aged older fighters who have big names. Put him in with someone prime, it doesn't work out well.
