mikey has been over looking broner according by his comments lately.. before that I was leaning towards mikey breaking him down over time and winning by tko between rounds 8-11. but with how lightly mikey is taking him and if broner shows up in shape he may have a chance.

 

Just give credit to the winner and don't make excuses. You already lined up excuses for broner. He had trouble with the weight, he wasn't comitted to training blah blah blah.

 

Garcia is very professional. He was out of the sport for over 2 years and stayed in the gym. I would have no worries about that at all

broners never been that good, that was evident vs ponce, malignaggi, and a couple others. some people just get wowed by a couple things he does well and blow the rest of his abilities out of proportion, just like they do with khan. its easy to say "if broner does this, or if broner does that" he can win, then when he gets a beatdown, you have your list of the things he didnt do ready. fact is, broner needs a list because he has a weak mind.
the only thing broner has going for him in this fight is size, and that sure aint enough to make this a 50/50 fight.

Fighters with fast hands tend to get overrated talent and ability-wise. Amir Khan is perhaps the prime example, and Broner is another case.

People often act like Broner is some super talented guy whose head is preventing him from greatness. He isn't a Michael Nunn or Hector Camacho Sr. He is moderately talented for a world class fighter.

He has fast hands. What else makes him standout in terms of physical gifts? His footspeed falls far short of that, his legs sometimes look as if they are stuck in cement. His reflexes, particuarly on the defensive end, are nothing to write him about. His defensive deficiencies are made worse by his short, stocky frame, and his tendency to square up. He becomes a bigger target.

His power is decent but he certainly has lost something going against opponents who aren't smaller than him.

Beyond physical gifts, is he a comfortable, fluid fighter who shows a "natural" inclination for boxing? Does he show a real high technical skill set? Or an imaginative style to make an unorthodox style work really well for him?

Again, he's moderately talented at the world class level. Good enough to be a contender or decent title-holder, but his "ceiling" and "potential" are greatly overstated.
