If Parker wins he might get another chance

I’d be surprised if he ever fights again

With Wilder chasing Joshua, all Ortiz has to do is go through the back door and if he can, eliminate Miller and Breazille. He right back in the mix.

This. Hearn had no intention of letting Ortiz anywhere near Joshua. Ortiz was finally able to get his titleshot that was long overdue, but unfortunately came upshort, but at least he got a payday.

Once again boxing fans killing their own sport......

A fighter does great, almost wins and he's done...on top of that he's STILL better than the other champion who is Parker?

    Go figure? :BangHead:

was hardly a great show. the first six rounds were among the worst ever fo a hw title. even afterwards, the pace was tortoise slow.

Back in the 2 ABC days, a top contender who lost to the obvious #1 Champ, would cross over to the weaker ABC,... win that title & run off a bunch of defenses and accept being #2.

Of course. He’s still a top guy...he just lost to the WBC champion but gave a very good account of himself. Ortiz just needs to keep busy, take a couple of easier fights and try to get a rematch or another title fight. Wilder was just the better man tonight. Nothing to be ashamed of

He could get another shot but by the time it happens he'll likely be shot or so faded he might as well be shot, he's already past prime. He's 39 in a few weeks, Joshua's dance card is full with Parker, Miller or Povetkin, Wilder and Fury. So at the earliest that will be the end of 2019 or early 2020 when Ortiz will be in his 40's.

Ortiz gambled last night thinking he could take Wilder and then get a bigger share of the purse vs Joshua in a unification fight, but it back fired, he should of just accepted the $5 or more million that a mandatory shot would of got him vs Joshua. Now he'll miss out on a big Joshua payday.

Ortiz will soon be 39 years old, although those who know him say he is around 50. I give a sick 50 year old man credit for almost knocking out Wilder, only the bell saved Wilder, plus Haymon's referee gave Wilder extra time, the commentators mentioned it..................Joshua will knock Wilder out!
