Do you see the Ward-Green fight as a MUST win for Green?

The Ward-Green fight is coming up in a couple of weeks and it got me thinking.

Green is relatively unknown amongst casual boxing fans and he's in for a very very tough fight with the projected favorite in the Super Six Tournament. My question is this.. Since Green is unknown, if he loses this fight, will anyone give a **** about his next fight? I Know his next fight is against Kessler which in itself have some people excited because of the excellent performance Kessler displayed in the Froch fight.....But if Green gets his ass kicked by Ward, will anyone really care about this fight?

In no way is this a must win for Green. He's guarenteed a title shot against Kessler whether he wins or loses this fight.

I am a fan of Green. The guy is a good boxer with superior power. He seems to lack a little mental focus sometimes in the ring. But, I dotn expect him to beat Ward who for me is on his way to p4p rankings. I suspect he will do much better vs Kessler than he will vs Ward. However, Green has one of the best short left hooks in all of boxing. He is a dangerous guy.

Nope. That fact that he has another fight lined up against a world champion means its not a must win. If he loses against Ward (which i suspect he will), then the Kessler fight will be a must win for him if he wants to be considered amongst the elite in the division.

Besides, every1 expects him to lose, so in a way it wont be too damaging IMO

yes..if he loses he has almost 0 chance to be able to make the finals...he will be out from a math standpoint...just wont be able to get enough points in his final bout of the tournament..so yes he does need it to keep his career at the higher level!

I just wonder if Green losses to Ward and turns around and beat Kessler for his title, what does that do with the belt since he is out the finals and champ? So he can walk away champion. That's a win-win for him, out of the finals and the WBC champion. So that's how it can work?
