Don't wanna write a massive article here but in the last few months I've noticed that people/journalists are talking about things that are happening rather than the things that aren't. We have a birth of a new star in Donaire, plenty of Unification fights in the works, Martinez and obviously a big Heavyweight fight to look forward to.

I also think the Boxing is dead crowd have gone very quiet, do you think my assumption is right and what do you put that down to if you do. Maybe it had something to do with how good November was last year or the fact HBO hit the jackpot with one punch knockout fights (Donaire vs Montiel/artinez vs Williams).

    Thoughts???

I definitely have more enthusiasm. Already we have the finals of the Bantamweight and Super Middleweight tournaments, Khan vs Bradley, Haye vs Klitschko, Calderon-Segura II, Hopkins-Pascal II, Ortiz vs Berto and more to look forward to. I have a feeling Don King will help make Pacquiao-Mayweather by the end of the year and Lopez vs Gamboa can't be too far away either.

Things are definitely better than last year.

I definitely think it's gaining momentum. There hasn't really been a stinker this year other than Bradley-Alexander and some really talented fighters are coming into title contention.

Without Money May boxing is still treading water in comparison to UFC/MMA.

Money May > all of UFC/MMA

Without Money May UFC/MMA > boxing

Hey man, you gotta admit it's true. When it comes to marketing boxing solely relies on Money. With him having sealed his legacy in the game and spending time with his beautiful wife the game desparately needs him. In the meantime, UFC/MMA has the marketing game on lock. When I walk into a store and see UFC trading cards/action figures you know they doing something right.

Its not even remotely true. Floyd is not the Messiah so get off his sack.

Hes obviously a major figure, but no-one is bigger than the sport. Not Floyd or Manny. Look at the newfound popularity of Alvarez and Donaire for proof.

No it doesn't. Ever heard of Manny Pacquiao, David Haye or The Klitschko Brothers?

Until he beats Pacquiao his legacy will never be sealed.

No so beautiful after he's smacked her around a bit.

The game just needs him to take a proper fight rather than hitting women and security guards.

Well lets face the facts.. boxing will never be the same in America.. but on a world scale.. stars like Martinez, Donaire, Khan, Kilts, Canelo, Froch, Gamboa, Juanma and so many others are beginning to capture their countries' attention.. before that it seemed like it was only Cotto JMM Hatton n Calzaghe.. soon if these guys starting taking on each other, the buzz for boxing will only get bigger.. on a global standpoint.

Couldnt agree with you more bro. Friends who would never talk about boxing are all of a sudden asking me if there are any good fights on tv every week. Its funny how everyone talks about Canelo but almost nobody knows who the hell Donaire is, so sad but true.

We need to give credit to the mexicans and puerto ricans they really seem to love boxing. Also germans. Boxing just needs a mike tyson type of guy and it will be allright. Pac is very good but he is small . People like to see a american big heavy dominating. Or atleast a exciting heavyweight I guess.
