Prime Usyk is mostly unbeatable, but he's not Prime any longer. I wouldn't favor him over, say, Prime Vitali. Because Prime Vitali was fast as hell and had a high workrate and was super accurate on counters. But then again, he had issues with Byrd. Usyk is incredibly unique. He has a total skill set, is extremely athletic, can take a punch and has serious power when he wants to use it.
Even a fighter like Holmes never beat an ATG in their prime, but he's considered an ATG for his longevity and title defences. Honestly unless you go back to the 70s where Frazier beat an undefeated Ali, or Ali beat an undefeated Foreman. Has there been any Heavyweight since 70s that has beat an ATG in their prime at Heavyweight ? I guess maybe Rahman over Lewis ? Douglas over Tyson ? and maybe Brewster or Sanders over Wladimir ? but most people would consider Wladimir pre prime.
Usyk still has enough athleticism left to outbox Fury based on what I saw tonight. I think you are underestimating how cumbersome Fury will be compared to Usyk. Fury's mauler mode worked well against Wilder but Usyk is a totally different matchup. It's a difficult fight for both guys and a tough one to pick if it ever happens. However I do agree with you that Usyk is probably at a disadvantage the longer it takes.
Since most likely he'll fight Fury and Wilder and then retire, yes. Because I have a hard time seeing either one of those guys beating him. Joyce, Hrgovic and Zhang certainly don't stand a snowball's chance in hell.
Bowe v Holyfield both unbeaten and for 3 of the belts back in 1992 iirc is the last one I can think of .
I don't care about him. he is not on my ATG LIST. question was simple and answer it, instead of asking me a question
Enough of your BS your not making any sense here . You posted that I had a very low standard of ATG status if I was to say that Usyk would be regarded as Heavyweight ATG if he went on to beat Fury and Wilder the other two standout fighters of his era whilst remaining unbeaten, also in beating Fury he would have made Undisputed for a start and the first to do in the four belt era. You refute Usyk ATG status if he was to achieve this as you posted he has not beaten any TOP fighters in there Prime ? You then posted that Lewis is not on your ATG list,so please do tell me who is on your Heavyweight ATG list !
Who considered Usyk unbeatable at HW? His size and relative lack of power compared to most top HWs was always gonna be a hurdle. @ CW? I wouldnt say unbeatable but close. Im taking CW Usyk over anyone at weight including Holyfield
Well looking at some of the ATG lists obviously Usyk can as there are fighters on there who would have achieved less than him as well as never having beat a TOP fighter in there PRIME as you put it. If they are accepted on the list the surely Usyk would have made it onto the list with wins over Fury and Wilder .
Why do you care about lists ? It's yes or no answer. You should treat every fighter the same way. If you say no, than nobody is atg until they beat top prime fighters. period.
I said yes,If lesser achieving fighters are on the list then so should Usyk. You have me baffled tonight !
