This is not to knock Fury when he's down. I predicted a Usyk win. But Fury actually impressed me with his tenacity and desire - I also thought he was completely shot, which I don't think is the case.
But where do you now rank him, resume wise, after last night - both in a current and historical context? Did last night change your mind on anything ?

He's a definite ATG. To do what he did against Usyk, even in defeat, is praiseworthy. Not only is he a great boxer with an incredible skillset, but he's a great showman. He puts on a show for the fans, he makes Heavyweight Boxing entertaining. He's an unpredictable awkward enigma, and I mean that in the best way possible.

I never did. What is more, with the abuse of his body over the years, I think it's too late, even if his head is right.

I think he's destined to be in that Tim Witherspoon, Ingemar Johanson, Vitali Klitscko spot were he just didn't quite to enough.

It all depends on if he can bounce back from this and still do great things from here.

Fury was never close to being an ATG his resume was paper thin......he'd only beaten 3 ranked fighters.

I won't be a total hater though because I do feel Fury did perform well in the fight and gave the fans a good fight which in the end is what we all want to see as a neutral boxing fan.

But the only fighter who is an ATG is Usyk.

It's no secret I've not been a huge fan of his in recent years. I think he was afforded accolades he clearly hadn't achieved ... best of his generation, one of the best of all time(?!!) After Whyte a lot of pundits were saying he was a top ten ATG! Madness.
However, bizarrely, I actually rate him higher in defeat than I did beforehand. Fury, to me, really crystallized that he is a very tough and determined fighter who, when fully motivated, is a difficult nights work for anyone.
I still don't think he has the resume to be anywhere close to a top ten ATG, however. And never definitely proved he was the best of his generation - only got part way then starting taking diversions...

Absolutely yeah - nothing but praise for both men after that thriller.

too much of this bollocks narrative in boxing whenever a polarising character loses a fight. This was a very high quality and great tactical battle - technically and tactically the best heavyweight boxing match I have seen since I started watching in the 80’s.

both men are clearly ATG’s, and by the time Usyk is done he may well be seen as a top 5 ATG.
This is a very good HW era in my book.

2nd best of his generation at heavyweight, a genuine great for me but his resume is too thin. Wlad's still his best win and there's a huge question mark over that win due to having used PED's in his previous fight. His next best win is Wilder who lets be honest might not even be top 5 in this era because Wilder's resume is the definition of paper thin.

So I wouldn't rank him that highly in terms of historical ATG's at heavyweight. Definitely not top 10.

At the end of the day, I will give him,

    40 year old Wladdy
    Wilder II
    Wilder III
    Chisora I
    Cunningham
    Wallin
    Whyte

I am not giving him any points for brutalizing Chisora again and again, and the other names he beat either fell into journeyman status or had already done so- Johnson, Pianeta, Rogan, Hammer...

    Pretty thin stuff.

If he cares about money, as we know he does, then he should jump right back in there and get his ass kicked again by Usyk.

If he cares about legacy, he should step aside, take quality rebuilders to build back up his conditioning and resume, and target a fight with AJ in a couple of years.

Most likely, he is going on a massive bender and will not be heard from again.

    Very sad.

    Congratulation Usyk and his fans!
Congratulation to all boxing fan because we got big party yesterday!

Usyk is Giant. He beat Fury and find a way to take this win away from Gypsy King.
He win clearly. He was better in most of time only middle section was round when Fury took him in very deep water.

Fury all time great? Yes he is very talented, good boxer but also...
He is just beat bad by SMALL, MIDDLEWEIGHT, UGLY RABBIT...

I Hope he is ready for new begining because he must learn now how promote himself in totally different way. No more talking about **** that no Man Born from women and all that other Bull....

    Great, great fight
    Great great emotion
    Great great victory
    And. ..

Great, great, all time great Usyk.

    Fury is a great HW.

But what I'd say is Fury and AJ had moments of being the best in the post Wlad pre Usyk era.

They never faced each other so we don't know who the better fighter was.

    Both clearly behind Usyk though.

Resume wise, not an ATG. I still think a prime, focused Fury is a tough night for any HW in history. It's the middleweights he needs to stay away from.
