This seems like a sober, reasonable assessment of things.
It's a shame there wasn't enough of this kind of thinking - from a lot of the boxing establishment - in the last few years.

Yes definitely not top 10 ATG at Heavyweight. But there's a good argument for a lower ATG despite the thin résumé, perhaps around 30 or so (of the top of my head - I'd need to actually start making a list to have a better idea). He was the one to dethrone Wlad and beating Wilder 3 times still has its value + they were exciting fights.

Never ranked him as best of his generation anyway. His resume was way too weak for that. He had way too many title fights and title defences for that. And now no sane person could rank him as the best of this era after the way Usyk, who also beat Joshua twice, battered him pillar to post.

    I never did!

He’s nowhere near an ATG, he wouldn’t have got near to a title shot in the 80s & 90s let alone be a World Champion
He hasn’t beaten anyone of note in his whole career except Wlad who was at his absolute worst and in what he thought was his last career fight. Wilder is a fraud, the biggest hype job, protected fighter and winner of set ups in the history of Heavyweight Boxing.
So who has Fury proved himself against?

Just because Fury proclaims himself to be the best heavyweight ever in history as often as he can say it, it doesn’t make it true. Hes PJ Barnum, a flim flam, smoke & mirrors, mouthpiece

Be careful what you wish for. If you really believe that Fury is a big fat dosser with a paper thin resume etc, then you completely discredit Usyk also.

Usyk can’t be an ATG if he struggled so much with such a poor opponent.

Of course the reality is both are ATGs and Fury could still win the rematch later this year

Haha! Usyk was badly hurt in that fight on a few occasions and went to hospital afterwards. Don’t think you could ever say Fury was battered from pillar to post after that fight
