Floyd is a lot better than Marquez.

Marquez is more exciting and more willing to trade, but p4p floyd is a better boxer.

Sure he looked huge but he looked fine and was cutting weight fine.

Manny has cut 15lbs and looked great, there's reason he shouldn't be able to do it now.

I agree, but he's not better then Marquez 'in every department.' Marquez is a better combination puncher. Floyd had every advantage coming into the fight with marquez. He was way bigger, natural at the weight, faster, stronger, reach/height advantage. Marquez had no chance to win, and even then it's bad style matchup. With all that in mind, the fact that Floyd outboxed him doesn't necessarily mean he's better then him in every facet.

Yeah of course, it was a mismatch and a scam.

Marquez just want to fight for payday being at the end of his career. I don't think he wants to fight for legacy since he didn't want to face Khan when presented to him at one time. Being said I don't think he got the choice of what weight they have fight should Pac accommodate him for the trilogy. I remember after their first fight he tried to avoid a rematch to the extent of even fighting Chris John in Indonesia for a much smaller purse (and lost). It's only after about 4 years when the rematch was made.
Of course at this time of both their career it's the question on the business aspect of things, will it make money the way their pay rate is going, specially Pac's.
As for the original question my answer is no. It would be a complete mismatch the way they are, development wise, right now.

hell no. Mosley, Marquez, Campbell, those guys aren't the same close to 40. Pacman-Marquez III should of been made at 130 or 135, but Marquez has no business at 140 or 147.

Let's just leave at the thought that many believes JMM beat Pac in one (of both) of the fights. JMM is getting old, and I'm 100% sure he'll KTFO if he faces Pac at this point in his career, so no point.

I'd still watch it. 140 preferably.

Manny destroys him now, something which could taint a very good legacy for JMM.

Plus it takes away the magic of the first two fights

    Yep, at 135.

Well, it depends on how JMM looks on the 31st.

I'd only like to see it if they hired three judges capable of scoring a fight, rather than the two sets of three blind mice that scored the first two - or at least, two sets of two blind mice

    1. Marquez 114-111 Pacquiao

    2. Marquez 114-113 Pacquiao

I don't expressly want it not to happen, but I wanted it a lot more a couple of years ago.

If Marquez looks good against Diaz and Pacquiao can't land any other big fights, then maybe.

If Marquez looks as shot as I think he is, then NO THANK YOU.

For the record, I'd love the fight to happen at 135 but that ain't happening. No way is Pac gonna move back down in weight and give JMM his best shot at beating him.

    135 Ideally, 140 Realistically, 145-147 never.

Yes. I want this more than any other fight.

Manny of course would be the favorite, but Marquez is to Manny what Frazier was to Ali, no matter when how where or why, a competitive match is guaranteed.

Last time they fought, Marquez matched him with smarts, not speed or strength, and that doesn't fade.
