No top fighter wants to get near him. He brings the viewers in great numbers because he is a great finisher. Ward brings nothing to the table financially, at this point anway. Ward needs to get out of Cali into larger domestic and international markets. Chavez jr will not happen as papa would never let his son take a severe bearing like that. Sergio I think would fight him for the right $$, given he gets past Cotto. Cotto, if he beats Sergio will never fight GGG, as he would get destroyed. Everyone seems to want jr for the payday -i.e. froch, ward, GGG, kessler. I do hope someone steps up...

Sacrilege! Some 154 pounders are NOT ranked at 160!! AT ALL!!!!! :blood

How can you be a JMW when you're ranked @ MW? How many JMWs are currently ranked at MW and who are these guys? Guys like Rosado and Guerrero have decided to officially move up so they're not JMWs, right?

HBO might get Golovkin fights with three of Geale, Lee, Kirkland or Martinez in 2014. While I disagree with choosing Lee, Kirkland is a sensible opponent from HBO's perspective purely because of the ratings he generates.

Just wondering if you were planning on using "Kirkland is not ranked at 160!!!!" to whine about the fight if it were announced for April.

HBO has the money to eventually put up for a Golovkin superfight. Next will be either Geale, Kirkland or Lee................nothing wrong with that. Probably be Martinez by the end of the year, or Cotto, but I expect Martinez to knock Cotto out................

Well lets go through the list :

Felix Sturm - IBF Champion : Avoided Golovkin as Mandatory
Peter Quillin - WBO Champion : Showtime fighter, doesnt want to fight
Sergio Martinez - WBC Champion : Fighting Miguel Cotto as a tune up, should see them end of the year if HBO pushes it

    Other middleweights :

Martin Murray - Has constantly refused
Sergio Mora - Possibility, Mora constantly has brought up GGGs name
Daniel Geale - Dropped WBA to avoid GGG
Marco Antonio Rubio - fighting for WBC Interim
Sam Soliman - Possibility unless he gets a Sturm/Geale fight

I dont think Golovkins ready to move up to SMW until he unifies with Martinez and given his activity im expecting him to fight 2-3 more times this year

The thing is its not a lie that the top middleweights are avoiding him, why would they when they can fight for other world titles / defend them and earn more money in the long run by not fighting GGG (especially when his critics are detracting his status by saying he hasnt fought a top MW bar Macklin)

Golovkin has a fight next in April 26th for MSG against either Andy Lee or James Kirkland (and Geale but lets face it he wont fight him)

Cotto - Martinez will be fighting in June so id expect Golovkin to fight around the same time again (Sergio Mora would be acceptable) and hopefully Golovkin/Martinez will be made in December of this year
