Do you think a guy like Cory Spinks would beat Floyd Mayweather at 154 lbs ?

No. It would be an awkward fight for Floyd, but Spinks was never very good in my eyes. Now he's expired on top of it.

This is what Cory said not too long ago :

    St.Louis IL. (May 12, 2010)- Chaifetz Arena
ST. LOUIS—Five-time world champion and current International Boxing Federation junior middleweight champion Cory “The Next Generation” Spinks (37-5, 11 KOs) made some bold statements at Wednesday’s press conference at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis announcing his title defense on June 12 against IBF No. 1-ranked mandatory challenger Cornelius “K9” Bundrage (29-4, 17 KOs).

“My title is not leaving St. Louis,” Spinks declared. “

. When I get done with Bundrage, I’ll fight anyone: Floyd Mayweather, Manny Paquiao, Miguel Cotto, Paul Williams, Shane Mosley—you name it, I’m ready.”

Do you think Spinks would be a tougher fight for Floyd than Martinez would at 154lbs ?

Maybe spinks two or three years ago Would have made a difficult fight to Floyd stylewise but spinks is now overweight and inactive.

It would be an ugly fight style wise, but floyd still comes out on top fairly easy.

A "prime" Spinks? "Prime" Spinks would give him trouble early on and then get beaten in a competitive 8-4, 9-3 decision.

Spinks now? No, he barely scraped by prospect DeAndre Latimore

In his prime I always thought Spinks had a good shot to beat Floyd. The southpaw stance the size the jab and the movement would have gave Floyd fits. NOW I doubt it. He might win a few rounds but doubt he beats Floyd.

What if the fight takes place at 160lbs for Floyd to try and win a title at another weight class, does it change Spinks' chances ?
